  1. 4" of new freshies in Island Pond so my neighbor and I headed out to see how the trails held up from the weekend pounding. Went out through the lumber yard. Met a couple of riders I knew from the Burlington area. Ron on his new 850 VR1. We let them pass us. It was boney out to Four Mile Square Rd just past Dave Page Memorial. All the roads in Silvio Conte or snow covered and had a good base Icy in the corners. We stuck mostly to the roads made our way to the power line, back over to the Poker Palace. From there we went up to the lookout on Trail 2000 and headed over to the 111s. Caught the brighton groomer on the backside of Gore Mountain. The back side really needs more snow very icy. Little base so weird. Woods trails really need more snow!

Once at the bottom of Trail 2000 took a left on 111b that had to be the best woods Trail of the day. Ventured down Canal Rd to Stone Dam turned around. Some clickity clack on the skis. The new snow helped so much. It's good to get my sled out of break-in mode. Back home 60 easy miles. Only saw those two guys all day. Snowing again a light dusting. We really need a big dump! This pics are the best pics. I don't take any of the crap because I'm usually pounding through it to not see it again

  2. Welp woke up to everything white again! If you want to scratch that itch, call in sick. 3 new inches at 1300' I bet more in mountains of Averill, Norton and Newark. No idea of anything west of me. I'm in town by the pond. I'm also going to link the new webcam in another thread.

Riding snirt is better than sitting at home

I guess that true. Thankfully I'm retired and this is where I live so can pick & choose. Others RFR Doing club work waiting for snow.

That is the biggest factor for me is price I got 2 small kids so I rarely get to go north anymore or ride in general.  I don’t want 13-15k tied up in the sled I  really want to only use a handful of times a year. 78 is plenty fast for southern nh might fall behind on northern trips with my buds on turbos but whatever it’s new hopefully no hassle just turn key and ride. Ride this until my kids can ride on trails, buy myself my dream sled and hand this down to the wife. 7,349 is a hell of a deal for a new fuel injected sled. What dealer did you both get yours at?Thanks for the info and I look forward to hearing how it runs out of break in and if you run into any issues this season.

I bought mine at Lemieux's NH and my friend at Land Air. Yes he had the $500 golden ticket email and 750 off for warranty no extra warranty. Without the two it would have been close to my price. My dealer said I could save $250 for each year but didn't want to if I didn't like it or problems. Extra warranty is nice. I believe Land Air quoted him $8400 something before this. MSRP was $8999 on the Backcountry. I'll keep you posted a start a 600 EFI ride post not to gum up this topic for the original poster.

  5. Finally was able to go for a ride from the house here in Island Pond. Took off from the Dale avenue area on trail 114c. Didn't take the pond but there was a shanty out there. Cut through town, there was lots of sleds filling up at the Irving who has changed hands by the way, Bob Dexter no longer owns it or the Lakefront though the new owners are expanding on the Irving to have a takeout window off the back.

I continue through the lumber yard decent coverage lots of whippies Maxwell pit area was frozen picked my way up to Dave Page Memorial. Took a right through the off Trail play area over to Trail 114 the one on McConnell Pond road, heading toward Trail 114a 4 Mile square road.

The trails that consist of Silvio's road system are awesome plenty of bays from the loggers packing down the trail prior to this last snowfall. Any of the cut trails need more snow there's really not a base and there's some running water still going up over Trail 2000 was gnarly in places but passable. Northeast Kingdom snow blasters groomed as well so you had a connecting trail system by the Poker Palace. Did about 50 MI went back through the lumberyard to my house. It's snowed a couple more inches today and I know that Canaan is out evaluating their trail system and Northeast Kingdom snow blasters along with my club the Brighton snowmobile club are continually working the trails. Drift dusters too have some open trails. They have an open Trail 2001 yet and the 1111s weren't groomed either maybe they are now but yesterday they weren't so that's my report.

You can launch from Stone Dam, the State Beach, in town behind Kingdom Market. There's food available at Kingdom grill it replaced the poutine place, very good, and of course Essex House.

What is the top end on that sled?

What is the top end on that sled?  Post up your experiences with it this season.

I'm still in break-in right now, though I ride the sled easy for a bit to get belt set then go like I usually ride. Where I was had hard packed logging road straight aways so I pinned it a couple of times. Didn't realize my gauge was in km's! Haha though through my conversion saw 78 on dream-o-meter at 7100 Rpms. The writing is so small so this is glancing at it. Its pretty snappy. Throttle response feels great imo. It's louder than my etec & more vibration at idle though didn't feel anything in the bars. I think the mxz 129 version of this will be a hoot in the twisties! Will get more miles since right on trail here in Island Pond VT.

I’m interested in your assessment of the sled also I’m really considering spring checking one like yours. I want something new sick of dealing with used junk. The price of this is what has me seriously thinking of getting one.

I spring ordered mine and price was a big factor for me. My friend took his with the 1 yr warranty at 7349 plus tax & fees (VT). I took 4 yr warranty at 8500 no tax (NH). The MXZ and Renegade obviously cheaper.

  7. This is my 2021 Backcountry Sport 600 EFI. Finally got to stretch its legs yesterday! I like the new motor a lot. I've had a few 600 e-tecs in smaller track lengths (120/129). This my first long track & Gen 4. Also have an older 900 Ace to ride so I'm use to no top end lol! My only complaint so far is the dumb key. I keep trying to start it from the handlebar. xD

Hi Judy you're allowed to write Hardcoresledder on here but you're not allowed to write Freedomsledder on Hardcoresledder the New VS Admins will give you a warning about posting Spam on HCS and if you do not listen to the New VS Admins or follow the site rules and Terms Of Use agreement for the site they will ban you. If you try posting Freedomsledder on HCS they set the software so it automatically changes Freedomsledder to Hardcoresledder......

Judy are you the one who posts some really nice pics on HCS in the Vt forum????

Great! Freedom! I understand now. How whacked is that? They really screwed up that admin power grabbing jerk! I feel it's very unfair the treatment many of you guys got. Didn't like seeing that because you all had such knowledge and passion for snowmobiling.

I joined HCS in 2004 when I started Riding. And Yes that is me! It is a hobby. I remember asking Rob what he used on the trail so I bought a small digital camera. I still do it that way even with new phone cameras. I like having fun Snowmobiling and taking pictures. I will bring all my posts over here now.  I will try to get use to the new format too. Thanks for saying hi everyone!
