    including the ski hill races?

wonder what Geneva, ERX and Spirit Mountain will look like in the next month... @fortune46x

Yeah... but what else could they do?

Maybe we'll get all our snow in April/May/June this year just to fuck with the farmers.  :dunno:

Erx will be fine , the other two who knows. time will tell.

Always shocked they can stay cool enough on shit like that or farewell burn.  I more than doubled the coolers on my IQR and no way I feel it would have run in shit like that...

Yurks mechanic said the only time they were concerned was the sight lap. Itd get in the 130s.

Midwest racing was hearing about how awesome the iron dog was so they thought they’d give snirt racing a try.

Ohooo, wow. So like EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. In the pro class qualified that day and raced the final? Looks like someone needs to do some crossword puzzles to try and save what memory they have left.

Just like it is 20 years later... except we started this season out with 17 pros and are at 11 due to injuries.

its amazing to see the old wsa tracks and what they used to do on the mods , vs what the pro's are doing on stock sleds now. the technology isn't even remotely close to what is is now vs back then.

It is set up so everything is equal. Not going to change anytime soon.

so if everyone was on a 850 it wouldnt be equal?

    that's the one... :lol2:

current non-EPA sleds are 150-160hp depending who you believe... correct ?

they should all be racing SP5's and fanner Jags really... 85hp is the sweet spot.

    :)

    Depending on the flavor ...

2003 Lake geneva WSA snocross final .. I was wrong its 10 riders not 12.

Been tried. Back in the fucking 90's. To dangerous.

by that logic everyone should be running blasts then ... and not 120hp sleds

the 1999 zrt800 was rated at 110hp. the current cat xc race sled is rated at 134hp.

fwiw in the haydays of Wsa/WPSA there was 12 pros on the line then too with 100% open mods and you could make a six figure salary off racing snocross.

If you want to win the series than you are forced to invest a lot more time, effort and money into your sled to be competitive. It’s stupid. No one is getting rich racing XC.

Any club that decides to not follow ISR rules is taking on a lot of unnecessary liability and putting their own board and members in danger of being sued if someone was to be severely injured, paralyzed or killed. Guys who say they’d race if only 850’s were allowed won’t ever race. 600’s are plenty fast and powerful enough for XC. Following ISR rules to a tee is a club’s best protection from liability.

You nailed it. ISR is a necessary evil. They haven't evolved completely from the glory days of ovals racing but are coming along slow but sure - its been an uphill battle with the computer age hitting and jets going bye bye.

There are a ton of race series out there looking outside of isr for insurance but I would have to guess that the policy's are limited.

  7. Did anyone tell the cat crowd to put on the super secret belt and cover and make sure the helix is at #1 setting ?

on a side note for any of you racers out there - 2023 .5 hours and no miles 30,000 no low ballers I know what I got (the only way apparently a ice race can be won is with a procross)

You should bring back the orange rule for the rest of the XC season.

    "Brake light"

    "Tether"

"Ok, let me see your helmet."

    ...

    ...

"Go back and put a bunch of orange tape on it for me, then I'll give you the sticker."

I actually got the orange helmet overturned. But the gear still has to have orange on it.
