If I could only have one sled it'd be the 500 snopro.  But this Jag rails the tight twisties way, way better.  It turns in effortlessly and it's like it's begging you to turn in more.  Even those real tight ones that are almost a 180 and kind of annoying on a bigger sled, this one eats it up and pivots right around so easily.  This sled is low and light and at some point physics win

Yup.... those Jags....especially the Jag Specials / Jag Zs were a blast.
I agree on the 500 SP.... I may have to start looking for a clean, stock, low mileage, non-teenager beaten to death unit this summer. Maybe that will be my "take a year off" sled.....LOL...

maybe it's time for you to come back to the Sno Pro camp - there's a 720 with 1300 miles on it for sale in your neck of the woods.  :)

I honestly regret ever selling my original 2010 500 SP...... But not sure I could stomach buying someone else's sled at this point knowing how mine was from day 1. But I have often thought about getting another one.......definitely not another 720 however...... I'd either leave it stock or do the 1 thing I haven't on those sleds yet.... the 602 big bore......

and yet no mention of anything new in the seat department from Cat again for 2022, which has been one of the biggest complaints that's so easily fixed it isn't even funny.  thought you ditched the white skis?

    I know......such a simple fix............SMH.......
Got black skis, never got them on before selling it......

sure is - nothing is watered down on these sleds.  a 600 version might get me back in the NEW CAT camp.

switching teams next year Tom?  you've only had 57 Procross now right?  the last year is always the best version, starting in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022...

Greg B never got his RR back this year because 'backorder' and Textron go together like PB & J

I honestly don't know. Actually not missing my sleds....sold them all this season. My 21 RR went a couple weeks ago......and it hasn't stopped snowing since.............. Maybe take a year off and see how I feel about sleds after that. Cat will probably still have the ProCross for 2023.... so what would I miss......LOL.....

Oh.... 57 is closer to the number of firecats I had......... only 14 ProCross sleds so far.......LOL.......

There is no new (stock) sled on the market today that can run with this old 50 hp sled in the woods.  That may hurt some feelings but it's true.  Sorry.

Not currently offered...... but I'd bet a 500 SnoPro would easily......... Damn those sleds were tits in the tight and twisty trails.......still wish I never sold my "original" one........

    Hey... Taperk600!

nice to see ya around here:thumb:

Lynx is interesting, reminding myself not to get caught up in the hype.

BRP is a Big $$$$ sled... I might pick up a RXC if the money is right?

What is the highlighted info you wrote all about? I haven’t heard anything on that? Have I missed something?

Seat Concepts.... they make tons of seats for a lot of powersports applications. Took over 6 weeks to get mine, but love it. Looks the same as the  long MNT & RIOT seat, same height, etc. BUT the foam density is 10000X's better than the crap Cat uses. Reminds me so much of the 500/600 SnoPro seat. That was probably the best seat and seating position Cat has ever had........and this makes the ProCross damn close to that......

Been putting on miles the last three weeks and cat riders of all shapes and sizes asking questions saying they are finally so fucking fed up that they are ordering a Doo or Poo or Lynx for next season.  These are the last of the ultimate diehards of diehards ready to hang up the green bibs.

Yup.... The Lynx has me interested but not for $6K more than I paid for my 21 RR. Almost ordered a 650 Matryx last spring,  but wanted to ride one first as I wasn't blown away by the 2020 XC 137 I rode. Might get a rip soon on a Matryx VR1 850 137 but for the $$$$, still leaning towards another RR. I like the ProCross and with the Seat Concepts seat, the seat height and foam are fixed. But I am still ready for something new after having 14 ProCross sleds...........it's time ........

  8. The LYNX is interesting and there will be many on the trails....

Price is what's stopping me from looking at it seriously as the RR (based on what I paid for my 2021) is more than $6K less..... But Cat hasn't released the 2022 prices yet so who knows what they will be this go around.

You guys are all comparing the Lynx skid to the Rush /whatever Poo skid....but didn't Yami have a similar design in their late 90s/early 2000s SX/SRX sleds ? Had the transfer rods, etc ? I realize the rear arm is different, but maybe Yami was onto something back when they cared about snowmobiles......

I have my 93 wild cat in pieces in the garage...
It be cheaper to buy something else rather than fix it.
Its heavy and not really all that fast.
    horrible on fuel

But I really liked riding that sled as a kid and a cool looking sled for its year so I started ordering parts today.

Looks like the SP behind the Wildcat is in more pieces....... looks like the W-cat towed it in with the chain around the bumper........

  10. GOD.... I must be ANTIQUE then...........LOL...........

Oh a serious note, 92 EXT 550 was my 1st brand new sled. Then a 94 EXT 580 EFI in the "new" ZR chassis .....Then a ZR 700 and after that started my love with the baby triples ...95 ZRT600 we were able to get thru the race dept as an early release. 96,97, 98, 99 LTD, 2 2000s  (1 reg, 1 LTD) and 2 2001s (1st year APV. motor..1 reg and 1 LTD also) .... I really loved my little 6 trips !! My last 2001LTD was the fastest I've been radared on a sled....123 on a LONG run on ice. Then I got into modding the 440 SnoPros....

But yeah..... I liked the late 90s/ early 2000s sleds for sure !!

I've never ridden an F7, but still see many of them in the winter usually being ridden by younger guys on a budget - that can apparently afford a can.

You honestly didn't miss much. They were fast because they were light. But also tippy because of the narrow track, especially before the outer rear skid wheels were added. Had a bunch (go figure that.....lol) of them.... almost 1 of every limited edition -- multiple "SaberCat" and NightFire ones especially. But no Canadian or "Tiger" models. And a few of the 02&03 440 racers with big bore kits (04 is when Cat went more sno-x specific with the small tank, HOT ecu, etc ,etc and made it a lot harder to trail ride them). Loved them when I had them....would rather ride a ZR or twin spar now and never throw a leg over another firecat/sabercat ever again

  12. Fastest set up is a 2003 with 1" track and a 06 triangle ECU....... Unless you have access to a drag box.....

Stock, out of the box, either a 2003 F7 1" track or a 2004 EARLY BUILD F6... also with a 1" track. My EB 04 F6 would run dead even with 03 F7s across the lakes and be ahead of those with the deep lug tracks. If memory serves me right, we showed a 5-6 mph difference just between the 1" and 1.375" track on the same sled, same day, same "track" on the guns.

    gotcha'

so what's the new Kitty getting done this time?

We are back and forth with what to do this year. Just didn't get the time we would have liked on last year's set up. So may just continue that route......

    to be continued...................

well look what the Cat dragged in... :goodpost:

Did they run your 2021 Tom or was there no 'mod' class this year?

Nope, did not run my sled this year. Actually my sled isn't even all together yet.....

Not sure what was there for performance shop sleds.... or much of this year's whole program. From what I gather it was kept to a "select few" who were told when, where, etc...........

  16. What should anyone expect from the Cat 800 with 152 hp stock out of the box.....dumping tons of oil for the first 300 miles..... So bad you can hardly see the sled on the dyno.....

Did they even run it long enough to get the rev-limiter off ???
