Tesla makes the most American made auto’s in the US.  Much of the US “domestics” are a mixture of Chinese, Taiwan, Mexico with a little splash of US.

Nothing american about subsidizing the purchase of vehicles that have as their most valuable components rare earth materials mined by slave children at great environmental expense.

giving it a listen about 30 minutes in... pretty negative commentary on the Proclimb/Ascender thusfar.

so far they sound very positive about the new chassis... for the mountains

Cat really dropped the ball on the mountain sled starting in 2012. Going from the front runner to dead last.

That's good to hear since those guys haven't said a thing good about cat in a long time. I have a procross which I think was fine for an 18 but never liked the seating position. I wonder how those who like the procross seating position and the wind protection that go with it will like the catalyst?

I think I'm going to stick with mine for a couple more years since I can't swing a new one at today's prices for a toy but I might try a different at least.

Gym is considering applying for this position as Gym feels perfectly qualified to lead this company.  Gym would clean house and hire as many people from Polaris as he could.  Gym has seen the direction Artty Cat has gone for a long time.  Gym is tired of the sadness.

Lot of former cat people at Poo already. Maybe some would come back?

Solid question.  Snowmageddon (no floor units for dealers) started before she got there, as did the catalyst development, and rona "supply chain constraints"

So they lost market share every year she was there, but she must have done a great job, since this is a big promotion...

Gunnar Kleveland is the one who is actually in charge of AC fwiw

Mr can't handle an adult sized sled but liked the blast?

Blazing Saddles is my favorite movie... 🤔

Tell us more about the Yamaha employees that assemble Yamahas on Cat's assembly line ... :lol2:

And I'm sure doo sends their managers in too on the yellow 120/200 days. The factory is like an open gym basketball court. Whoever has next gets to run the plant that day and make their sleds.

Who the heck is buying a Yamaha still?  Why?  Only possible reason I can think of is they have a Yamaha dealer next door that they like.  But they still won't have the experience servicing them that a normal dealer would and probably DGAF.

Why does Yamaha keep pretending they're still in the game anyway?  It's kind of sad and pathetic just make a silent exit and nobody will even notice

I think Yamaha likes to screw with their own customers. Last year they sold out quickly and will do the same this year. Dealers and customers want more product. Somehow textron and yamaha can't seem to get it done.

Yamaha will have 33 model variants for next (down from 37) year, and they are already working on the 2025 models. That came from a Yamaha employee in charge of the production line.

I'm still trying to picture how this works. Do they have days they let Yamaha run the line? Or does the guy call in the blue orders?

This topic has a wider turn radius than a school bus.

So, what's Yamaha going to do next week?  Introduce a blue Catalyst?  They wouldn't introduce a new engine, would they?  Keyed tether?  New tunnel bag?  Something has to be new, doesn't it?

Heard they will have a retro look this year. Red and white.

Maybe Cat will give them a 800 procross riot? Yami seems to like to introduce some minor tweak each year.

Hard to see them putting a different engine in the old chassis. If Cat couldn't get the 800 together for the catalyst, they aren't going to be ready for a yamaha in it.

It was one screw on the procross lmao they didn’t do anything great it takes probably 30 seconds less now. Plenty of people don’t want electric start, I got my new RXC without it.

Not defending cat and I agree they should have them available either way but I’m guessing with the lower number of units and cat being a much smaller company it (in their penny pincher eyes) makes more sense to them to run everything down the line exactly the same or as close as possible.

Yep, I'd prefer not to pay extra for it, and it's a hassle to deal with maintaining the battery.

Plus you'd think if Cat was looking at every way to lose weight, that's an easy one. At least until the next lawsuit so they can get the SHOT thingy from doo.

If it came down to paying for better shocks (say what they put on the sno pros around 2018 over the lxr ifp specials) or estart, I'd take the better shocks all day long.

  11. I've seen blast on the trails in the 3 years or so they've been out. They've sold out every year but that doesn't mean much since textron can't or won't make many of them. Agree they would sell a lot if they were allowed to sit on a dealer's floor. Family is up riding and wouldn't it be nice to get something newer for the kids to ride? I almost bought an evo one year in July that way. Wish I would have. I'm not a doo guy but I think the neo is a better concept at the price point but I haven't ridden either.

From the production line manager for Yamaha. 33 models, down from 37.

Cat Catalyst takes the sled world by storm!

    Polaris? Who cares?

    Ski Doo? Same.

Yamaha is like Cat, planning there 2025 sleds. Yamaha is far from dead. Cat is as always, the greatest brand ever. I'm back! No lies on the Yamaha stuff. Right from the horses mouth.

Yamaha's production line manager? So a textron employee?
