My first brand new sled, ‘88 Formula Plus, chaincase was delivered bone dry. As I recall, that quickly became the least of my concerns with that pile.

Sorry 6.6 not 6.0

6 speeds are famous for the converter clutch burning up, and the debris destroys the rest of the tranny. The programming tries to lock up the converter at low speeds and in every gear, and allows for a lot of slip. Good tranny guys re-flash to eliminate it when doing a rebuild.
Still having lots of issues with DOD/AFM lifters failing and taking out the camshaft too.
My truck has 70k on it, 5.3 and 6 spd. I'm actually considering changing the converter to a triple disk, cam and lifters as preventative maintenance, and driving it till it rusts away.
That’s one of the first things I noticed with my new’23 gasser 6.0. The torque converter locks right up in second gear when just running around empty. My ‘16 never did that.

My 2018 I put 180,000 miles on it in 3 years. I shit a tranny just over 100k. My dad’s 17 failed about the same. It’s seems like the ones built in the last 5 years have more trans problems than the older ones
Funny you say that. My brother in law has a ‘17 Sierra 6.0 2500 that is literally a grocery getter for them (he’s in construction and has plenty of trucks). Lost the torque converter in less than 40k miles.

We run our own trucks for work. The gm as of lately shit transmission in about 2 years of use. Including mine. A lot of my co workers went to rams. They have held up better than the chevys. They go through brakes and tires a lot faster vs the chevys
Luck of the draw with gm transmissions. My ‘16 gasser that I had for 6.5 years plowed snow, pulled sled trailers and my Jayco Eagle 321 fifth wheel all summer through the Northeast. Never had an issue.

Maybe should have stated they put 1100 motors in the 750s....I know (knew) died on his bike a kid that did the swap for several local bikes.
And I don't believe they are the same.
Yes the 1100 frames were reinforced and heavier than the 750. Also the 1100 wheel base was longer making them less nimble.

Nice Bike
Good friend of mine has a mint '89 GSXR 1100 still, he is the original owner.
My brother had a black/silver ‘89 1100. I think I rode it more than him. Lol
I Bought the ‘86 used in the spring of my senior year of high school back in ‘87. Beat the piss out of it, bike made a lot of trips to Laconia/bike week. Restored it in the early 2000’s and don’t run it more than a couple times a year now.

Discipline a child in public and see who starts spazzing out. The end.

Naked bikes are awesome. Not as crazy as the Streetfighter but I had a 2016 FZ09 with Graves full exhaust and Vcyclenut flash. Straight up wheelie machine , thing was nuts and I came off a R1..
I had to sell it , I rode it like a hooligan.
Those FZ-MT09s are a freekin blast to ride. The early ones suffered from an extremely snatchy on/off throttle, but so did my z900 before the Ivan’s tune.
Was able to get out for a little ride on my home built street fighter over the weekend. It’s a ‘77 Suzuki gs750 with a 2000 Suzuki bandit 1200 engine, front end and rear swing arm married to it.

Damn...That’s a beauty.
Yes, those integrated quick shifters are awesome. Even the aftermarket ones work great. I installed a Healtech one on this Z900RS, works flawless.

We even had an auto body/ custom painting class at our school . It was dropped just before I got up there. My older brother took it. I remember him taking in our ‘72 Polaris atx 335 hood, it was supposed to be a custom flame job but looked more like a bunch of bent up pitch forks. Wish I had a picture.
