  1. Only time I contacted my councillor wa when a developer bought a vacant lot @ a busy intersection to put in a strip plaza 20 years ago. Area was well served by a plaza a few blocks away to the east & to the west.

Community was against the idea of more traffic in the area & campaigned against it. Council voted against the plan & a co-op residential building went up instead.

Ford cutting Toronto city council size to 25.

    Let the crying begin.

Its amazing how major US cities run on smaller councils and a strong mayor system but we will here how Ford is destroying Toronto...

    Where is Fail?

Watching all the crying councillors on the TV today & wondered if the Toronto Islands will be flooded again?

So JT believes the best plan for the "irregular border crossers" is to move them from college dorms into hotels!

Great plan.  Now the costs to taxpayers will increase.

And any traveller who required a room in a motel in Mississauga will be forced to search for a room elsewhere.  This will increase the cost for rooms around the area for travellers s fewer vacancy leads to increased pricing.

I am really glad JT sees no issue with our tax dollars being wasted away.

Haven't the authorities been housing refugee claimants in motels for years now?

After 2 weeks in a school year.

NDP does not give a shit about the kids, that is a given.

    no not 2 weeks

once you reach the point where there isn't enough time to finish the term, its too late

NDP will fight for the worker, the students will move on in the end.  A hiccup is something  to expect in life - they will get over it

    #workers

I bet the NDP would be the 1st to scream:

    when it suits their agenda?

  5. So why does Andrea seem to be yelling in the Legislature?

About all the province can do is tell the Crown Attorneys not to plea bargain away gun charges. Anything else that might help the police is deemed anti-Canadian.

Maybe a few more basketball courts might give unemployed, disadvantaged non-white youth of the GTA something to do?

    I'm doing a 24 X 30 garage now. Engineered slab for floor.

Got the "Kit" from TimBer Mart in Dorset. Awesome service. $350 for all engineered drawings and as many copies as I needed. No issues with the permit.

Spent 15 minuets on the computer picking size, how many windows, doors, locations of each and bang. Print out pad and building drawings with a complete bill of material and price list for everything including how much concrete is needed to staples and Tuck Tape.

The Home Depot kit in '99 didn't calculate the concrete, but was very detailed in the materials.

Sounds like the statement about the shooters mental illness didn't come from the family at all but rather some Muslim spokesperson who may not even know the family. This is nuts!!

Chatter on Faceplant afterwards how the statement came out as soon as his name was released. People also wondered who would've prepared it what w/ the father in the hospital & a brother in a coma.

    They pick closest lakes possible.

When the Brechin fire was on a few weeks ago there were 4 bombers picking up in Canal Lake.

My parents have video.  Nothing was said about stopping boaters.

I guess the pilots expect common sense.

    LOL

Idgit 2 doors down had a bonfire today before the rain despite the ban in the township, called the fire dept. Always building fires in his backyard & then leaving them to burn unattended. The guy is dumber than a stump, proof than anyone can procreate...he 'made' 2 rugrats with the gold digger that snagged him (that's a story for another day kids).

A pretty cool vid in this link. Planes, one after another filling up. I assume people are told to stay off certain lakes up there so the planes can do their job without worry of hitting boaters?

They probably just pick lakes that are not used and easy to get down to. lots of lakes.

I would hope that people would notice pretty quick the MNR's water bombers are active in the area & stay off the lakes.

That's the video. A friend that lives in Nobel & has a cabin near Lost Channel shared it the other day. The video was shot on the Key River.

Whatever size you think you need now, double it, especially if you are planning on staying there for a long time.

It hurts the cash flow for a bit now, but you won,t regret that decision down the road, when you realize you should of went bigger, right from the start.

To figure out what we needed for size, bro & I got the dimensions of the machines I was getting. Then we made little card board shapes to scale to determine the layout.

I started with Home Hardware in Huntsville but the Guy there was a complete incompetent Dick and wasted 3 months of my time.

I got the drawings from T-Mart and hired my own contractors. Started last Monday and putting shingles on today.

No problem w/ HD in Whitby @ the time I had my garage built in Oshawa. Told them the size what I wanted for doors & windows Voila kit was delivered to house. A minor variance to speed up getting the trusses. The truss outfit it Port Perry was backlogged, but they had a bunch that were very close to what I wa going w/. They called to ask me about them & we went w/ the change.

Contractor had no issues putting it up & it was completed from pouring pad to siding in a month.

the obvious problems with a pole barn would be rotting posts and frost heaving ,, not saying don't do it though

That's why we didn't go w/ it for the shop. Now if it had just been a storage building w/ a gravel floor, a pole barn probably would've been suitable.

  15. Look @ the times schizophrenics will be on meds, feel fine go off their meds & then go & do something violent because the voices told them so & so was evil.

If the shooter had such bad mental health issues (the family's opinion) why was he not supervised?

Also, before the shooter's name was released,  I heard the phrase "Don't jump to conclusions" repeated several times by the authorities.

I haven't heard if JT has tweeted a heartfelt apology yet.

In their statement, Mr. Hussain’s family said their son suffered from psychosis and depression.

“The interventions of professionals were unsuccessful. Medications and therapy were unable to treat him,” the statement said. “While we did our best to seek help for him throughout his life of struggle and pain, we could never imagine that this would be his devastating and destructive end.”

And yet he was able to obtain a gun.
