Apparently BRP service reps are hinting to dealers there will be some type of recall/campaign on cranks this summer. The majority of the failures are from some bolts on the bottom end that arent torqued down correctly and loosening off. When they fall out the bounce threw the cases. BRP knows there is an issue.

Here is the best part. 850 engines are on BO with no ETA as of yesterday. I predict a massive recall this summer on 850s with new cranks going in them all.
-
There is an 850 sitting at Delta Power in Seaforth right now with the rod blown right out of the cases. 1500kms on it.

Unfortunately no snow in the long range for anyone in Southern Ontario. I have a bad feeling the trails around Mitchell wont get opened back up this year.

Out of the crate, is he assembling it himself???....ask him for a copy of the bill of sale...that's a little over 14K before tax.
Even if its a 129 base model that seems really cheap? Not calling bullshit but my buddy who is a Cat dealer says that is below cost on the cheapest model of 9000 even with all the rebates and holdback out.

I used to mod but only clutching. My XCR will stay stock.....this year :) I have yet to run head to head with another comparable XCR 800. The machine is not a big number runner, it's geared for trail fun. Last weekend on my runway, groomed, loose snow 0 C. The best I got on radar was 92mph indicated 97mph. The other sleds I was with run GSX 600 ETEC 86mph, 2011 Rush 800 89mph, 2015 AXYS 800 91mph. The AXYS wasn't pulling good RPM that day.
The normal AXYS seem to be running faster top ends than the XCRs from what I am hearing. I am interested to figure out if the gearing changes much with the different pitch track enough to mess with the top end? Polaris said last spring that the XCR would be their top end machine and it is starting to sound like that is not the case?

Add that one to the retarded kijjiji ad thread.
I was offered a brand new 17 850 X yesterday for $13900 + tax

I dont think there are tons of XCRs out there either? There are lots Pro S 800s and a surprising amount of base model SB 800s. I think Poo dealers over-ordered on those.

Plenty of 850's for sale as well
A search on Kijjji shows 7 at dealers in Ontario for sale. None are resales. There are a few 850s at dealers but the vast majority of them are sold. There are way more Polaris 800s on dealers floors from what I have seen in my travels.
That being said there are quite a few SW and 9000 resales listed for sale.

It's 1yr old. Being delivered from Florida in the spring. This guy has no shortage of money. He has a 58 Viking sitting in Sarnia right now that he has for sale.

A client of mine just bought one of these. I have no idea how much money it would have been?

incorrect...
His issue was nut retention. In his case, which you can see in the picture, regardless of stud length, could have been avoided by having a dealer that knew what they were doing. A shorter fiber lock nut would have held that stud safety regardless of whatever stud length was installed.
What he said. The nut is way too big for that stud and loosened off.

Thanks Slider.

The MXZ 850 seems to be somewhat reliable. The Summits are having 90% of the grief. I think BRP has made them too light and it is starting to bite them in the azz.

There is another guy across the lake that isnt afraid to spend some money either. Big new Formula boat and new helicopter sitting on the front lawn. Always a new Porsche in the driveway.

Its a multi million dollar industry But where are the people that profit the most?
What are the dealers and manufacturers doing to help promote the sport? And i am not talking sponsoring a dinner at a banquet for a few.
Is there an Ontario snowmobile dealers association loddying the government for trail funding? Is there a dealer association out on trails talking safe sledding?
Is there snowmobile dealers out posting signs stay on marked trails?
I have been to snowmobile dealers where their demo sleds are super hyped up lake warriors ready to rip the trails apart and encourage faster bigger better. Why not have 3 smaller cheaper sleds that can be used to go to troubled areas on a weekend and educate?
Where is the support from the people profiting the most from this insanely stupid hobby that eats a huge percentage of your paycheck?
want it to get better, boycott the sled dealers for a year.
Most snowmobile dealers are struggling just to keep their doors open.

Havent had PWCs in 15 years and I have the itch to get a couple for the cottage. Going to order a Spark 3 seater for the kids and a GTR230 for me.
How much are you guys paying for insurance for them these days?

Yeah. Its going to be a trailering up north type of season. Not sure how many more seasons like this I can handle?

My buddy sold his Citation LS for $1500 this fall and we thought he got ALL the money for it. His had less than 30hrs on it.

How long until that 3-wheeled Spyder ripoff thing is cancelled? They must be losing their shirt on those.....
According to my BRP buddy, he said Spyders have sold very well for him until 2016. They are welded to the floor right now at most BRP stores.
Why anyone would buy a Polaris Slingshot boggles my mind? For $30K, just buy a year old Mazda MX5 if you want a 4cyl side by side vehicle. At least you drive it in the rain.

I wonder if Polaris will offer Indian to their existing Victory dealers? This is just another sign of how f'ed up the motorcycle industry is in NA right now.
