What, you just realized this? Fucking every time I get stopped they're just looking for a reason to search my car. "I pulled you over because the license plate frame is blocking where it says Garden State"  earlier this year driving home from work around midnight on Sunday from an asshole looking to nail my sober ass with a DUI. The license plate frame is the stupid plastic POS from the dealership, everyone has them and no one ever gets pulled over for it...  Then a few months later,  "I pulled you over because you were ashing your cigarette out the window." from some douche nozzle trying to nail me for weed on my way home from buying some beer. Man do those fuckers start apologizing quick when you hand them a PBA card "Oh no, I'm so sorry I was trying to fuck with you for doing wrong now that I know your uncle is a retire cop." I just want to be like, "You know it's an equally dick move to do this to twenty-somethings who aren't related to police officers, right?" Both times I smiled instead, and then waved and felt awkward knowing I had weed in my car and I had just used my privilege to get away with it.

Sounds like you're a magnet. I've only been pulled over once in 10 years of driving and it was for speeding 16 over so it was legit. And I don't hear about BS reasons  like you listed from other people either. Plenty of times I've passed a cop with reason to pull me over (1 mph over the speed limit is technically a reason) but they haven't. And I drive a blacked out truck so I don't exactly blend in.

And the PBA cards are worthless around here. So many people play the "my bf's cousin's friend's uncle is a cop..." that it gets overused. My dads a retired trooper and whenever he's been pulled over the cops don't even care. I was with him one time and the cop was a total dick to him. My dad didn't even flash his badge, just politely mentioned it.

Do any of you guys watch it? Seems to me 90% of the time these cops smell pot. Does everyone in the US drive around smoking weed? Pull over a guy for a tail light, sure enough I smell weed, in the cuffs, PC search, finds a joint in the guys ass. Seriously, one guy a joint in his ass, and the cop removed it for evidence. The idiots on this show never cease to amaze. Lots of the cops that "smell" weed never find anything, so I think that is the work around to trample rights and search every car they stop. Land of the free once again proves it is a police state run by fascists.

90% of the scenes on the show?  I watch it all the time. Maybe you think it happens a lot because it's a sore subject for you. The bottom line is, pot is pretty damn easy to smell. Same with smelling alcohol on someone's breath. And if they don't find any in a search it might be because they use it so the smell gets on their clothes, car, etc but they just aren't carrying any at the time.

We've got about 10" of fluffy snow here in northeastern VT. One of the clubs to my north plans to start packing on Friday so they can open up on opening day, Saturday December 16th.

Nice. :bc: Canaan, Norton, or IP?

Apparently Errol and Milan got 16" but Pittsburg only got 7. Very spotty...

  3. We've had a big skunk problem in my town this year. I hit one myself which was a first for me. My tires still reek. And then there was one point this summer that I counted 6 dead skunks in the road on my 22 mile drive to work. My front lawn is all chewed up from them digging for grubs or whatever they eat. My dog hasn't been sprayed in a while but I always scan the yard with a flashlight before letting him out at night.

They did pay quite a bit of attention to Stewart and Gordon. Not as much as they did Jr though. I wonder how much Jr not driving next year will hurt TV and ticket sales? They are already in trouble.

It'll probably hurt big but like you said they've already been hurting. It's kind of hard to follow the rule changes, most races are pretty boring, fan base is aging, and big names are gone. I have a hard time sitting down to watch a race nowadays except the super speedways. Rest of them I just catch the end.

awesome interview with Jr......sad to see him go but good for him.

I was a little annoyed with all the attention he got. I get that Jr has a big fan base and I like him, but Matt Kenseth had a far more successful career and basically got shunned all night. I don't remember Gordon & Edwards getting overwhelmed by the media like that either.

applying the accelerator and then waiting for what seems like 4-5 seconds for the engine to rev and the truck to accelerate is not a good thing

I find it really annoying too. I have friends with new 5.3's as well and for some reason they don't see it. I can deal with it because it's just feel. The truck itself has plenty of power for what I use it for and the fuel economy and reliability make it worth it.

We only have lowes and hd here....i like lowes better cause you can actually get someone to help you if needed....hd is a ghost town were employees are concerned

It's the opposite here. I used to work at lowes part time and we were always understaffed. They hire people with zero knowledge because not many people want to work there for what they pay. And then they don't train you at all.

Ive never seen a menards. The HD here is pretty good. I try to shop local for certain things but sometimes it's just a lot more convenient or cheaper to go to the box stores.

I think Tucker is a change for the better at fox. He seems to have brought some reasonable debate back to fox. Since they cut colmes from hannity and colmes fox has been full neocon.

I can't stand tucker. I usually agree with him but I think he's a whiny bitch when the debate doesn't go his way. The looks he gives people when they talk are priceless.

Pretty much , but didn't colmes die ??   I'll say one thing for Bill , at least he would invite folks with an opposing viewpoint onto his show and I always thought that he didn't get the credit that he deserved for that .   I actually watched his show from time to time

How are the trails after all the rain and warm weather? Don't you ride out of Colebrook?

Our camp is a few miles east of colebrook. After the rain Wednesday its now too thin to ride from there, have to trailer to Coleman SP, millsfield, or pittsburg. It's a rock hard ice base with 1/2" snow on top but the clubs are doing their best with what we've got.

  10. Copy & pasted from my TBP post...

I spent all day today test riding at the snodeo since the trails were iffy and it was below 0. The demos were all 17's except the Cats which were 18's. I know it sounds cliche but I liked certain things about each brand. I rode an MXZ X 850, Backcountry X 800, el Tigre 6000, ZR 8000 dsi, cross tour 7000, sidewinder LTX 137 + XTX 141, and a Pro-S switchback 800.

My biggest takeaway all day was how awesome the 850 motor is. I rode it back to back with an 800etec which I didn't like at all. The 850 revs and responds much quicker and it's super quiet and smooth. I like the ergos of the G4 except the lack of knee room.

The Switchback is a great sled with a shitty motor. Best ergos in the industry bar none, but the engine vibrates, shakes, smokes, and feels like a 2005 should not a 2017.

The sidewinder was a direct opposite. The power is insane, def feels like an honest 200hp, but it was a handful on the beat up feeder trailers that we were riding and without studs on all the ice I couldn't even launch it on a short straightaway.

The cats were pretty nice. They probably handled the best of the bunch but I still don't like the procross ergos. The dsi 800 is light years ahead of Poo but still nowhere near refined as the 850.

Here are some pics of the 18's. I really like the yellow MXZ X, if it came with a 650 etec or 900 turbo I'd be all over it. Wouldn't mind a Cross country 7000 either. :bc:

Polaris is so much better for a taller rider then xs xp chassis.and more bang for the buck....

The g4s have been cracking bulkheads like crazy....

The G4s have better riding position imo then the xs xp chassis but you need to get the toe holds.

Ive only ridden a summit though so cant really comment how they are on the trail.

Agreed. The Axys fits me perfectly. Trails here were bumped up yesterday and I was thinking to myself the XS is not great for sitting/standing transition. Seat and bars are too low. I can't wait till I can get a G4 or an Axys with a 4 stroke.

Did you feed the gray jay's at tin camp?

Nope. Didn't stop much that day as I had to drive home afterwards and wanted to put on the miles before the big meltdown and glad I did. I've heard a lot of people talk about tin camp but it never occurred to me that was it. Makes sense now haha. Always a ton of snow in that area.

I wanted to do a couple rides to Derby and to Lyndonville from camp but it's looking like that's not going to be in the cards this year. Bummer.
