  1. Every single time Trump wins in the appellate courts proves the political nature of these cases and will continue to bolster his support with many American's.

The left is simply too deranged to comprehend that.

    https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/ruth-bader-ginsburg-donald-trump-eighth-amendment/2024/03/19/id/1157888/

In a unanimous decision, the U.S. Supreme Court said that it does, in fact, bind the states as well.

"The Excessive Fines Clause traces its venerable lineage back to at least 1215," Ginsburg wrote. "Magna Carta required that economic sanctions 'be proportioned to the wrong' and 'not be so large as to deprive [an offender] of his livelihood.'"

Timbs v. Indiana was the first time the Supreme Court had determined that the Eighth Amendment's excessive fines clause applied to the states.

In an opinion piece published recently in the Los Angeles Daily News, Susan Shelley outlined how the Supreme Court eventually found that the Bill of Rights applies to the federal and state levels and said Trump will be protected from the state of New York by that recognition.

The Eighth Amendment states, "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."

  2. If whatever is in those files is so damning its likely they wouldn't let the person live.

Oswald killed Kennedy however the CIA's involvement with Oswald is in question.   Not that they had him kill Kennedy but definitely knew about or had some contact with him.

  3. Shit like this might help Trump get over the top as well as carry the house and get the Senate.

My neighbor works for a large family hog operation and he said this will be devastating for their bottom line as they are responsible for trucking the hogs to market and much of their output went to this plant.   He said when they shut down for even an hour it caused them havoc.

  4. Help more than hurt.  Trump haters are already Trump haters and there is nothing changing their mind.   Same goes for his supporters.   Maybe the polls are wrong but he is picking up significant gain with minority voters and overall his support seemed to increase with each new charge.

Increase in support for Trump also has a significant amount to do with Biden failing so miserably.

I agree....raise taxes on those that want higher taxes.  Make it a simple check box that puts you in a higher TMR.   Boom more tax revenue.

    In case you need this.

I wonder why the great philanthropists of our time like Gates and Buffett don't give to the govt?   Would it be they also know govt just wastes it.

  6. :pc:  Amazing historical times coming for the US Supreme court with more huge decisions to be made.

Just wait who comes into this post and defends what she said.   Same people that hate Trump, defend almost EVERYTHING COVID and want us to spend 100's of billions more in Ukraine.

"My biggest concern is that your view has the First Amendment hamstringing the federal government in significant ways in the most important time periods," she told the lawyer representing Louisiana, Missouri and private plaintiffs.

"And so I guess some might say that the government actually has a duty to take steps to protect the citizens of this country, and you seem to be suggesting that that duty cannot manifest itself in the government encouraging or even pressuring platforms to take down harmful information," she continued.

"So can you help me? Because I'm really – I'm really worried about that because you've got the First Amendment operating in an environment of threatening circumstances from the government's perspective, and you're saying that the government can't interact with the source of those problems," Jackson added.

Trump will soon become a total bad investment even by Russian standards. The more he drops in the polls and continues to bleed everyone else’s cash the more he becomes a bad investment and investors or idiots move on.

    Jail the fuckin asshole.

And the flow of investment firms out of NY continue to surge.   In the end this will cost the state far more than what they ever will get from Trump.

I bet they’d have more options to back them vs your toxic cult leader   Wonder what he owes on his properties vs what they are worth - and who he owes money to - should come out as his case moves forward :snack:

These bonds generally aren't backed by real estate.  Much of his net worth is likely in real estate.

Take off you biased glasses for a second.   You really think something like this where there was no victim and the group supposedly defrauded testified as such and even said they want to do more business with Trump is worth 1/2 billion in fines?

  9. Even some of the wealthiest don't keep almost half a billion around in cash nor have that readily liquid in 30 days.

I doubt even the likes of Musk, Zuckerberg or Bezos could come up with that kind of cash that quickly.

You fit in well with the left looking down your nose at others.   The 3 most successful people I know never went to college and all likely contribute more to society in a year than you have in your lifetime.
