what we have right now is what I would refer to as normalized rates.
what we also have right now is massive debt accrued by D's and R's over three decades.
the BBB doesn't appear to tackle our actual problem, the debt... whatsoever.
so we have a spending problem and a not paying for it problem, don't we?
We have a spending problem. 2024 we collected almost $5 trillion in federal taxes. That's $15,150 COLLECTED for every man, woman and child. 40-50% of households paid in no federal income taxes. If you want to say not paying for it problem it falls on them...not on those of us paying 25% plus to the Federal Govt alone.
I agree the BBB doesn't attack the problem enough. Stated this a number of times already. Its another kick the can down the road bill. It has plenty positive but doesn't address spending enough.
Yes Powell did do a good job on inflation doesn't change the fact that EVERY PRESIDENT would want less interest on debt they didn't necessarily make especially when so much is due for refinancing. I'm mean that's a pretty simple concept for anyone to comprehend.
I agree these are more normal rates and many times have discussed this with another member....doesn't change the previous statement about interest on the debt and budget.

potus should be thanking J Powell
he won't, but he will try to take credit for it
Every President wants lower rates. You do realize we have to refinance $9 trillion in debt this year. Few points can mean $100's of billions to the budget.

Politicians are deathly afraid of it getting used against them and honestly I don't think they read that right on many things. I think American's in many cases would applaud them for it.

I've said it many times...its like we are living in Bizzaro world. The GOP has moved to the center on many issues and the left keeps making leaps farther left.
Most wealthy pay way more than their fair share but if the GOP can steal this issue along with MW it would be monumental.

I'm not asking about anyone else or the media or for you to run off on some silly tangent. You are all things Trump so you, out of anyone here, should be able to post up examples that he is in fact human.
Trump just doesn't seem like the guy to admit when he was wrong. I can't think of any of the top of my head but I don't follow his every word either so. Politicians all have ego's but this guy takes it to a new level IMO.
I agree with your assessment on Trump however none of them apologize for shit.

funny how if you look at a 2024 electoral map alongside racers low minimum wage map, they align rather nicely.
R's can sieze one of the D's Aces right out of their hand before the mid-terms... and that's not all.
Hawley opposes the BBB though.... 😉
5D chess...
Steal their thunder. Raise federal MW and a higher tax bracket for really high incomes. If the D's refuse to sign it gives plenty of advertising for midterms.
I'm not 100% opposed to raising the MW but at the highest level it should be done by the states, should really be local. Lets face it what works for NY City might not work for small town upstate NY mom and pop shops. Let's be clear it could have an inflationary consequence if gone too high.
Only about 10% fall under $15 hr. Unsure how this is calculated and if it includes jobs that are low and rely on tips. I'd love to see something to break down a bit of the ridiculous tip culture we are in and I tip extremely well. No job should have exemptions for under MW and none should for not paying OT like AG gets. I know some guys that make pretty good money but work extremely high hours in the AG business. Hourly its disgustingly low.

here's the cast of characters, what they've been charged with, they'll be going in front of a judge, etc. and move on.
give those who want to protest facts they can't really fight or debate with... but did the admin do anything even close to that right away? most folks want to see the bad guys rounded up and justice served.
a bit of normalcy from this admin would be a breath of fresh air.
Where did you find it?
BTW I'm pretty sure the press secretary covered them.
You are hilarious...normalcy....you never complained once about the previous administration and it was more abnormal than any in modern history.
Everything about you on here is nothing more than your hatred for Trump.

who in their right minds wouldn't want these people incarcerated, detained and/or deported?
do the protesters understand this? we're the 'innocent' swept up as well? idk... because their messaging is horrific

List of ICE arrests in Los Angeles that sparked protests
ICE activity in downtown Los Angeles was part of an effort to serve warrants at a business believed to be involved in a slew of cross-border crimes.Just look how much they fought the Garcia case and there was plenty evidence there. The MSM chose to focus on him instead of the group you posted on.
And just who do you think is willing to put that information in the news? I seen something on every single one of them but not on any MSM outlets besides FoxNews, OAN and Newsmax. It was mostly on social media.
Here's the thing yes non violent criminal illegals will get caught and might face deportation but they still may have committed a crime entering illegally, giving false information/documents or lying about needing asylum. Any one of them qualifies for expedited removal.
Why is it so many were coming into the country with no identification and border agents were finding dumped identifications all over.
Some need to be detained to find out who they really are. Denied entry shouldn't just be if they committed a crime here.

Pretty telling about the whole thing them pushing this on people that weren't properly in the trials. Not sure who in their right mind would inject a experimental vaccine into their pregnant body but I'm sure there would be nutcases out there.
Inflation below expectations
in Current Events
I agree that there is no digging ourselves out of this but I also 100% believe govt cannot be entrusted with our money. Let me keep more even at the cost of higher deficits because they will just waste it and pad the wallets of their cronies. BOTH SIDES do this.
America is heading towards financial collapse without significant austerity measures. Best hope is get close to a balanced budget and have economic growth that lowers the debt to GDP ratio by that alone.
