But they do make laws.
Contrast Texas and California.
The divisions are there whether government gets involved or not
I was talking more on the fed level about the laws. It should be up to the states and keep the feds out of it.

I just did a quick look at the 18 ctech dyno charts and the 858 makes a few more hp at 7k. I'm thinking that it's not necessarily underpowered it's just slower to rev because of the longer stroke. From watching the snowest vid it seems like it'll be a great trail motor with good corner to corner pull and topend. I'm sure with some clutching/pipe changes the aftermarket can get it a bit snappier for the tree riders

they had more than ample time to make it law... but
They don't want to make it law, if they do it can't be used as a voting issue. Neither side really gives a shit. It's just another way to keep us divided.

I bet the top half of the Expert 85 class back in the day could outride 99% of 800/850 riders in a good bumpy ditch.
I bet the bottom 1/2 of the junior class could outride jimbo

people seem to be forgetting the greatest racing and trail snowmobile ever created... a literal gift from the Godz!
When Arctic Cat released its Sno Pro 500 last spring, the company pitched it as a cost-effective way for people to go snowmobile racing. Cat targeted entry-level racers who would compete in the Sport 85 class of the Midwest-based United States Cross-Country circuit, not to mention some amateur snocross racers across the Snowbelt.

and the Phazer...
Everyone laughs at the 440s and 500s, but i embarrassed alot of guys on my 440 zrs. I'm sure the 500 sp are the same, never rode that chassis but they sure looked alot better than the f series for racing lol

I thought like 03 for the F5's the pro class ran 500's. I remember people talking about running F5's at places like Pine Lake and the Soo and whatnot.
If i remember correctly they had a 500 class in 03 but the main class was 440. We ran 1in tracks too, but in 04 when they switched to 600s, pat made the change to 1.25 tracks to try slowing everyone down. They might've run a pro 500 class too but its been awhile. I'll have to see if i still have any uscc info

I agree that it may not have a huge impact on the manufacturers, but man ... I don't know about the dealers out there. Having a bunch of 2024 (and older) inventory and then being forced to take on whatever amount of 2025 inventory isn't going to be good. Hopefully the manufacturers recognize that, and don't force feed the dealers too badly.
Yeah hopefully the manufacturer's work with the dealersva bit, but they've all been through bad winters before, granted not this bad but hopefully they all survive. Don't need to loose anymore dealers especially the mom and pop shops. I hate dealing with the mega stores and it's getting tougher to find the small shops

I don't think 1 bad snow year will have a huge impact on the manufacturer's, but if we don't get good snow next year it's going to get ugly really quick. This is the 1st time in 40yrs of riding in bayfield co that i can remember the trails not opening. The last few years we had epic snow so hopefully this year was justvan anomaly

I just don't understand this, Jimmy said it was so dominant, that even stock last year it was cleaning up in the Mod class, diid it suddenly get slower or did the racers get complacent thinking they had it in the bag and not do any setup? Did they give the fast one to the sport guy?
Jimbos gonna have a busy week testing to help the guys find a few more mph

Looks horrible for the catalyst, maybe herf and jimbo need to get together and find the right gearing

, I think it's people that are headed back towards the lake from Red Top or the soo line. Not legal at all.
Do they run atvs on the red top trails in winter or is it sled only?

Usually it's a liability issue. Are the logging roads active still?
They're always active in mn wi and mi. There's 10s of thousands of miles of logging roads between the 3 States that are legal to drive cars and a t v s and sleds on

I thought he was the stop sign holder at the hot dog stand.

I was hoping our resident engineer/ race promotor/troubleshooter/cat expert/sign holder would fill us in

Around here the sledders don't really do much anymore. Some trespassing, but don't really tear shit up.
The quad and SxS group spins donuts in city parks, tear up the trails between the lakeshore road and easier ice access, tear up yards trying to ditch bang, etc. It is mainly the dumbasses that gave up on sleds and moved on to the wheeled shit.
I see alot of the atv ditch banging going on in mn. Hardly ever in wi or mi. Does mn let them ride on the co rds? I know up in finland/ grand Marais area there's alot of logging roads that say no atv on them which i found odd

Hey jimmy, How many catalyst's made the top 10 in the stock class today?

We used to have some ATV trails in our area and that crowd couldn't help themselves. Couldn't act like they have been in public before and now we have 0 miles of ATV trails.
I just can't see it working here too well.
I don't see them any worse than idiots on sleds. Up here you can ride on trails between 5 or 6 counties. Seems to work out fine, actually see more atvs up here now than sleds. The tough part would be getting the word out on when the can and can't ride in the winter.

In Quebec they have separate atv/sxs and sled trails during the winter. It's quite the setup.
That would be a nice setup for sure

Alot would have to do with the condition of the ground. Last thing a trail needs is more ruts just before a freeze and snow.
I guess it depends on the area. Here the trails are mostly atv trails all summer and there's very little swampy areas.
