How much are taxes going to offset that? And I’d like to see their projections over that of you saying $100m will be their additional costs. This is a purely macro conversation that everyone is choosing to have a micro conversation about. It’s just imperially incorrect.

No idea, but the tariffs are going to cost $2200 per bike and Harley has chosen to absorb that cost so the price of their product doesn’t rise in Europe.  Seems like Trump gave them 100 million reasons to finalize their decision to move some production to Europe.

    Gud learnt der ya.

That’s the key to this. Same with Harley-Davidson. They know that PR is king with publically traded companies. Even the whiff of choosing to overseas operations causes bad PR. They had a perfect scape goat to do what was already in the works. Someone in marketing needs a raise. They piled the wool over the entire media. Anyone with a clue sees through that BS though.

So Trump’s tariffs aren’t going to cost Harley $100 million this year?

    Huh

Lumber prices are higher than their housing bubble highs

But nails cant handle a price increase?

Nails can be made anywhere and I would expect there are many sources for them outside the US that are cheaper.

How many sources for cheaper lumber are there?

    This isn’t that complicated....

Looking at this chart he looks to be around 40% at this time and Republicans won the house back in record fashion and took back multiple seats in the Senate when many were no up for reelection. The midterms will speak volumes. If Democrats win in 2010 fashion then the country is against trump. if Republicans add seats they are with him. Democrats are clinging to Family separation which is a self-inflicted wound. If that issue didn't happen Trump is in the mid 50's riding the NK and booming economy wave. Is Family Separation as unpopular as ObamaCare, we will see?

Speaking of family separation, are all the kids back with their parents now?  How many days has it been since the EO?

Jesus , another thread on the same subject    They are so angry and eager to find something that can be perceived as bad news that these guy's can't even take the time to see if someone else found it first :pan:

Well it is bad news.  If it was good news, their stock wouldn’t have dropped today.  If it was good news, the tariffs wouldn’t cost them $100 million dollars this year.

ok I change my stance on this issue. Tarrifs that cause US companies to layoff American workers and move operations overseas are awesome.

What about all the value their shareholders lost today on the news?  That’s awesome too.

How about the $100 million Harley is going to absorb this year so their bikes are still competitive in Europe?  More winning.

Trade wars are good and easy to win

The FBI’s OPR then reviewed the report and underlying documents and issued a disciplinary proposal recommending the dismissal of Mr. McCabe.  Both the OIG and FBI OPR reports concluded that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor - including under oath - on multiple occasions. The FBI expects every employee to adhere to the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and accountability.  As the OPR proposal stated, ‘all FBI employees know that lacking candor under oath results in dismissal and that our integrity is our brand.’  Pursuant to Department Order 1202, and based on the report of the Inspector General, the findings of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility, and the recommendation of the Department’s senior career official, I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately.”

Old news and it isn’t any kind of proof of corruption.

Who else has had a criminal referral besides McCabe?

    Anyone?

Howie Carr is fucking awesome....I mean he doesn't advocate killing cops, or spit food when he talks, but he calls out corrupt pols of both stripes all the time.  You and angry Jim can hang your hat on a post I made that may have been incorrect, lets see how long you two clowns will beat that dead horse.  Meanwhile, you're still morons who still haven't posted a single credible statistic about illegal crime rates.

Actual stats have been posted.  You just didn’t like them because they don’t line up with your delusional alt fake reality.
