So, the ETEC just magically started getting better mileage.... or you just decided to get more honest based on the numbers posted?  :)

Yep, if he ran out at 130, there is clearly something wrong with that sled.  I had the same motor; 200+ was not an issue. Maybe the track's too tight....

    200+ kms right?

You muste ride specifically with fuel econ in mind.

    Irv,

With all the sleds I have owned, the diff in fuel at the pumps goes into the idgaf category.

    Take care.

Exactly. As long as they have the range the owner needs it's all good.

Like I said, your buddy's Doo that runs like a clock, clearly has issues.  How many miles had it run when it needed fuel?

    Just under 130.

Today I was using about 2l more per tank than the Doo that doesn't run right.

IT does have a smaller tank I'm sure of that. Yesterday the other 16' Polaris in the group ran out a mile after that 15 doo. I'm sure I was close too I put 41 litre In plus the wwf jug for 45 total.

Not that I want to get caught up in this fuel mileage fray, but there is something clearly wrong with those Vector mpg findings. In my experience, I am getting at least 4 mpg more than what they listed there. In their defense, that is an LE and from what I have learned, the FI models get slightly less than the carbed models for some reason, but there is no way it is that low. (Also from SG, below)

The Vector and Venture’s Genesis 120FI engine is capable of achieving 20 mpg (US) on a regular basis while the Apex’s Genesis 160FI is capable of more than respectable fuel mileage as wellhttp://www.snowgoercanada.com/23-features/390-yamaha-apex-rs-vector

Ok let's tag you in irv. Your Yamaha must have DI in order to achieve those great MPG #'s??:)

  5. I brought fuel to thaT 800 E and an 800 Polaris via ww fluid jug today... to be fair the Doo does have a smaller tank.

    228 mile to a tank? :lol:try 130.

How do you know there's nothing wrong with that Doo?  Oh, right, if there were....... it would not support your rants.

It runs fantastic (like a clock) and gets comparable milage to other 800 etec in the group.I've got lots O miles on them myself.

No rants puzzle, again I'm sorry to dissapoint you on my use of reality as an example.

Let's keep on the current 800's as the topic as per the original arguement. 600's Polaris is behind in the fuel econ dept yes I agree.

  7. Yesterday ran From Cochrane on A To Hearst late lunch,  then back via L155 and L123. 375 Miles (604km) on the day. Trials around Moonbeam and Kap Excellent. Get off the A wherever possible.

  8. The 6 numbers from 2010 I can believe as I've been there.

Why do you shy away from the topic of current 800's? 15 and up Polaris 800 are way better on fuel than 09-14, (how did they do that without the requisite DI??) so your 800 "experience" is irrelevant once again.

There's nothing wrong with that Doo. I lead.

Like I said, I phoned BRP and told them to quit with the DI, as Garth says it ain't workin'...... they've contacted Engineering in Austria.  Will keep you posted.

    How are the trails?

Puzzle; the only one who has made that statement, is you.

Does DI need to get 20% better fuel economy in order to "work"?

The beautiful Thrift Lodge!!  Enjoy, are you heading to Fraserdale/Abitibi?

It was all I could get..

Fraserdale tomorrow.  Just leaving Hearst now after a late lunch.. (we didn't get outta Cochrane till 1030..) back to Cochrane now via some see trials might have ta do Smooth Rock for Dinner.

Puzzle the two 16' Polaris  800's and 800 E are getting within 500ml of each other on two fill ups so far.

  11. Frosty morning  here at a fully booked Thriftlodge Cochrane.

All brands well represented out there, not the usual high ratio of Doos like it used to be. Market leader status in jeopardy.
