How does that change what he said about hydroxychloroquine? How does that change what he said about managing the pandemic on a regional or county level instead of the state level? How does that change what he said about people dying from lack of care because their treatments are not deemed essential?
The shutdowns and social distancing were supposed to flatten the curve. It worked. Not a single healthcare system in the country became overwhelmed. Not even close. The curve has been flattened. It's time for the 35 million who became unemployed to get back to work. It's time for the country to get back to work.

True. Many medium sized towns (50k to 150k residents) have virtually zero infections. Lake Havasu, where we were until May 1, had half a dozen cases and zero deaths when we left. Where we are now, the Mat Su Valley Alaska had a dozen cases and zero deaths. The biggest hospital in the Mat Su valley has not treated even one CV infected patient. In Alaska, population 800,000, we have performed over 25,000 tests. 400 confirmed cases. 10 deaths. No deaths in weeks.
We left a place with virtually zero people infected with the CV And we came back to a place with virtually zero people infected with the CV. I'm not sick. Who am I going to infect if I don't wear a mask? Who am I going to catch the CV from if I don't wear a mask?

It's not too cold really. Typically 7-10 degrees colder than Lake Havasu. We were there in April and the water temp was almost 70f already. In June and July the river temp gets up to almost 80f in Parker.

Hmmm. I didnt think it was that cold. We went to parker last year at the end of May. The water temp was pretty nice. Not that cold.

35' deep average. 90' in the deepest part. Yes it gets really warm. Lake water temp was 80f when we left on May 1st. Gets way warmer than that in July.

Not that many. About 20,000 acres Its 40 miles from end to end. The widest part is about 5 miles across but much of the northern half of the lake is only 1/2 to 1 mile wide. The lake definitely gets small when 20,000 extra tourists show up to play.
Hale Havasu City is right in the middle of the lake on the Arizona side.

If there was ever a weekend for locals to avoid going out on Lake Havasu, this weekend is it. We say that every year, of course, but this year, with the increasing crowds and the continued warnings about the need for social distancing, it truly is good advice.
Mother Nature is poised to offer the signature Lake Havasu experience — sunny, in the high 90s and low 100s. Perfect boating weather. That alone is usually enough to bring on the crowds.
Memorial Day serves as Lake Havasu’s unofficial kickoff to summer, and this year, with so many people itching to get out after two months of being cooped up at home, it’s reasonable to assume the visitor numbers are going to be very high.
We appreciate that Lake Havasu is held in such high regard by visitors, even if we’re a little on edge about so many people descending on our small city in the midst of a pandemic.
Memorial Day has always been a weekend for the visitors. Locals know it’s usually better to stay home.
Dense holiday crowds usually mean a mix of skilled and unskilled boaters, some of them inebriated, which is a recipe for danger. When the number of people on the lake rises in such dramatic fashion, injuries and deaths are not uncommon.We got a taste of that last weekend, with three separate boat accidents occurring over two days in the same spot on the Parker Strip.
We expect local law enforcement will be on the prowl for boaters who’ve had too much to drink or are operating their vessels recklessly.
If you absolutely must be on the lake this weekend, please be careful. It’s always fun to people-watch during a stroll down the Bridgewater Channel or at one of our lakeside parks. (It may be interesting to note that this year, face masks may cover up more skin than a swimsuit ever would.)
Use your best judgment and avoid the crowded areas as best as you can — it will help you avoid accidents, as well as contracting or spreading coronavirus.
But we suggest letting the visitors have the lake this weekend — the rest of us have all summer long to enjoy it.
