Canada and Mexico move on ratifying it.  Are democrats in Congress going to finally after all these years look after the american worker or are they going to torpedo it and hurt the american working class for political purposes?

If they ratify, Trump will get to use it on the campaign. If they don’t ratify it, Trump will get to kill them on not supporting middle America. Win-win for him. It’s not a bad trade deal. Helps all three countries.

Not much to see really....just me bitching about Jim....mostly friendly talk....its a shame John couldnt pick between a guy who basically looked after the site and i guy who has bi polar issues.

He obviously chose right since you are showing your true stripes zoso-lite...

I can’t even imagine acting like this at your age. Do you have no shame? Is your life that miserable. It does make for some entertaining reading. Thanks for that, David.

  3. Raise your hand if you’ve ever started a “stop being mean to me thread”. Now raise your hand if you’ve started 5 in one day........bahahahahaha some people should never ever call rev a beta again Bahahahahahaha

She is a ditz no doubt.

But Maui isn’t like Oahu. I doubt you could ever be alone on Oahu

There a huge stretch down the west(?) side of the island south of Lahaina to Hana that the road was lost in an earthquake and they didn’t bother rebuilding. The jungle takes that shit back pretty quickly.

Sure. No doubt. I bet it’s thick. But still...

True, but guess what happens? Can you agree with the consensus that humans currently contribute in the neighborhood of 35 billion tons of CO2 to the atmosphere annually or do we need to dispute that?  Let’s just use that figure for now, eh.   So that’s going to warm the atmosphere some, right, or at the very least work to offset natural cooling or combat the effects of aerosols that we’ve also contributed.  Aerosols reflect the suns energy and have a cooling effect.  But let’s say it warms “a little”.  Now the warmer atmosphere causes more water vapor to evaporate from the ocean which increases the water vapor content of the air.  Water vapor is a much more potent greenhouse gas.  So now that the atmosphere has more water and that, in turn, will cause more water to evaporate .  Which begets more warming of the atmosphere.  Repeat.

Are you seeing the feedback loop here?

Positive feedback loops. Don't confuse the crowd with a sixth grade principle in science....

    No.  Just a little inexperienced.

What exactly does this question have to do with experience relative to anyone else here? Are you a climatologist more than I am?

I’ll bite on your question though. How much is caused by humans? That’s not known. What is known is simple. It’s controllable. While I’ll fully agree that the measure of man’s impact is not known with complete certainty, it is a variable that is controllable. With that, it allows us to understand climate manipulation via that independent variable. That’s the end game, or should be, right? Be able to control fluctuations to maximize our ability to thrive. Ignoring it or claiming it doesn’t exist won’t help. Why not accept a few key things:

Man has an impact. Nature has an impact. Some variation in temp can be controlled. Some variation can’t.

Ok, we accept that. Now what? We focus research at moderating temps (up and down) and reducing fluctuations. Longer growing seasons where needed, colder temps where required for ice creation, water and food supply intact for a growing human population. Seems pretty reasonable to me. But instead, you would rather have us pretend like it is all “fake news”? Ok....

I fully grasp it. The point is there is no consensus on climate change. People who claim there is either A. have an agenda or B. are brainwashed twats who can’t think for themselves and believe whatever they are told by whatever political agenda the Prescribe to.

I believe the climate changes I don’t believe man causes it to change. Solar Cycles and volcanic activity can change our climate. You and I riding a snowmobile or driving a car cannot!! Those are just two activities the powers that be can tax us for if they get their way and dumbfucks who keep pushing this man made climate change bs are helping them push closer to that.

You fail to think logically on this subject. You are overly emotional and can't see the facts as they are. There is a consensus on MMGW. That it exists. Where there is not one is the severity and what that will mean. You keep saying brainwashed.... It is painfully ironic.

There is no such thing as a scientific consensus. The people that would have you believe in man made Climate change starting using the phrase “scientific consensus” to program people like you!!

Thus, a consensus-oriented process is one in which people work together to reach as much agreement as possible. Unanimity (or unanimous consent) is more specific. It refers to the outcome of a vote showing all members are agreed.

I feel like you don’t grasp the meaning of that term. There is a consensus when it comes to man made global warming in ya scientific community not paid for by oil. Sorry. These are facts.

Programmed to believe scientific consensus? Sure that doesn't seem like a bad thing.

Programmed to follow the money and wonder who has more reason to lie, the scientists who work for NASA or the scientists the get paid from the billion per year the oil industry gives them to sow doubt.

Just have a look at the sources you provide.  Even among that small group, they can't even decide what is the cause.  Some claim it's not happening, some claim it's happening but blame it on solar activity or volcanoes. Hell some even claim it's a good thing. They should at least get their story straight.. Or maybe they shouldn't. It's working. They have a significant portion of the population fooled.

    Bingo.

I never said you were programmed on climate change.

You just aren’t capable of being open minded. You are what you are. There is an interesting theory on why some people buy into conspiracy theories like you do. Rather than accept things they don’t like they’ve deluded themselves to the point where any other explanation no matter how outrageous is better than the truth. Easier to accept. You jump head first into it all...

You’re programmed, programmed to attack anything or anyone that pushes against the mainstream narrative. Look posts in response to anything I say. It’s always you’re a flat earther. Meanwhile I don’t ever talk flat earth. You and a few others like to bring this up as if I’m arguing against the heliocentric model on a daily basis.

It’s a convenient example of your ignorance. Sorry, if you don’t like it, you shouldn’t have advocated it. Why should anyone take some twitter/YouTube fan boi serious?

  12. 2 minutes ago, jtssrx said:

There is no such thing. The fact that you’re repeating buzz words “ denier, consensus” shows the programming works. You’re programmed period end of story

Why do you think that brain washing is any different than your version of it? The only difference is one is peer reviewed research by people with 10+ years of college in that field, and yours is YouTube and Twitter from people with sub 73 IQ’s who don’t know the difference between weather and climate.

Im not one of those people who buys into the hype of we are all gonna die and New York will be under water. I recognize there is a profit motive at universities for grants, but the idea that man made change doesn’t exist is stupid. It’s pure ignorance because YOU are brainwashed. You talk about thinking for yourself, yet you just eat the other end of the spectrum’s narrative without question.

Look at this thread alone to find the truth. You have people claiming because it was cooler for one winter or summer in their area that it makes GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE not a thing. Sorry, but you’ve been played just as those who think we need to buy life vests in New York by 2020 have been.

Saying science is just a theory shows ignorance.

A theory is the highest graduation of an explanation of phenomenon we have.  It is the pinnacle of scientific processes.

Science isn't a claim to any truth, it is a set of tools, explanations and operations we engage in to model reality.

Saying that "much of science is just a theory" is ignorant of understanding of both what science is, and what theory is.
