My daughters knew the young man killed by tree in Milton.  And his brother is critically injured.

Very sad as these boys were very well liked in community.

They weren't brothers and both died for your info. Very sad indeed!!!

    RIP

Like being on the Trent system.... water levels are part of being there. I recall a number of years ago when they lowered the water levels in the fall like they usually do each year but lowered it a bit more than usual based on forecasts of heavy rains for the coming weeks they got lots of complaints from cottagers. It's a no win situation, where you look at the data you have and do the best you can given that data at that point in time. Either it's too high or too low depending on who you listen to.

The upper lakes are full to the brim annually1st week in February according to Think, I don'tThink anybody is looking at anything??????

I wonder what they should have done for the people on the east side of Simcoe... it's part of the Trent. Boat houses, docks and boats destroyed by ice particularly around Brechin.

Nature and weather are really unpredictable on long range.

I predict the snow/ice will start to melt when temperatures go above zero. I predict we will get more rain in April than we will in February or August. I predict it will not snow in July in Ontario,,,,,,,,,anything else you want to know???

  4. Looking at the long range forecast, it would appear that the spring rains and melt down may start next week? If I was the goof, I would be sending a couple of lads out to crank in a few boards in the chute, unless my ex still lives a little bit down stream?:stoned:

  5. Question on Shining Tree???   After gassing up, can you get to L141 without back tracking? We used to run old grassy road, are they still doing that?????

    Thanks!

    Are you serious?

You think it’s an easy thing to figure out?  Mother Nature

For one, if your getting flooded out you know your house or business is in a low lying area and could be flooded.  Move or risk it.

2nd, they have piles of historical data and information, weather reports etc.  They do there best but shit happens.

And 3.  Don’t buy a house or business in a low area or area prone to flooding!  If the water goes up 2 feet and your flooded maybe you shouldn’t buy there.

Or we can live in a nanny state that controls everything and tells you we’re to live and when you can be there.

Milton??? Are you a new Canadian???

Do you think the upper lakes should be filled to their max now, or maybe wait for the spring run off???  I have used heavy drugs for 40 years, alcohol abuse since I was 16 and only have my grade 8. I do know that snow and ice melt and April is always wet.

    regards,

    one word: Job Security

Basically a monkey or a cheap computer program can control the water levels. However, possibly a careful personal touch event by maybe by holding back water or dumping it real quick that upsets the smarter people causes an uproar. Having to answer lots to these incidents and make all kinda bs reasons up to confuse people is job security. The end result is like being a weatherman, people hate you but they keep coming back and creating a secure highly paid work environment.

I wish I had your job! Lots of money to be made with friends and lawsuits by being negligent? After all, we all know how competent government employees are!:stoned:   Anybody at the hound lounge today?????

  8. Think................my apology for being a dick to flush you out. FYI, many people including some business's are affected down stream by your decisions which I assume you would be aware of??? Many are not happy and have you ever had any lawsuits to deal with over your decisions?????

Cheers! Hope we get some snow soon?

  9. The blind guy is funny......................I will ask really slow this time Think. Why      do       you      need       the     upper    lakes      full        to     the        brim in early February before the spring thaw and April showers???   Here's your chance, go for it big guy! I tried to go there Jan 2nd, but he was closed! I'm never up north on weekends, but thanks for the offer!

  10. As soon as you mentioned mechanical gates, I assumed that you are the guy??  Explain why you would want to fill the upper lakes in early February rather than wait for the melt down and rain in late March or early April? Obviously by waiting,  you would be easing the water flow downstream, no?

    Thanks
