I’d have to say it’s the Bavarian N54. Despite all of its flaws, that bitch can be modified cheap to make gobs of power and lots of smiles. The old “80’s style Buick stage 2 Indy motors would be second.
the good one was the 2007 n54. Which was the first year for it. BMW sent those over and they were underrated for HP. They were Somewhere in the340-350 stock but detuned the next year in 2008
our B58 is ultra smooth and quick. Has the Power Pack 2 and it runs well.
I still think our N55 has more power but I think the gear ratios seem like it does.
Wifes old escalade with the 6.2 was a sweet motor, ran well, good fuel economy and never had a hiccup. Will See how well my new 6.2 does.

This is the worst thing I've read today. Irv, you need to start looking at the big picture. Yay, you saved 400 bucks.....WTF man. Go out and live, you never know when its your time.
Myself, I got out 3 times for real rides. Wife started a new job and she works every 2 out of 3 weekends. Oh well, think I'm gonna snow check again this year. On the bright side, I found a restaurant this week that didn't give a shit about the covid restrictions. Didn't have to wear a mask, no one turned away from lack of space, it was amazing! Can't wait to go back and support them, even if its on my motorcycle! lol
same here gave the server a 50% tip too.............

Doug Ford bans treat or treating in hot spots
Ontario health officials are recommending against trick or treating door-to-door this Halloween if you live in Toronto, Ottawa, Peel or York Region.
According to guidance released Monday morning, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams says the risk of transmission in those areas is too great.
“Given the high transmission of COVID-19 in the modified Stage 2 public health unit regions of Ottawa, Peel, Toronto and York Region, traditional door-to-door trick or treating is not recommended and people should consider alternative ways to celebrate,” Williams said.

Most of the Fountains are getting long in the tooth. Most had the bags beat out of them and are full of stress cracks and need paint. They were all over in New England 20 years ago. Rarely see them now. Buddy bought a new 42 yrs back for fishing and after a few seasons fire saled it full of issues. Motor mounts and top deck full of cracks. Cool boats back then tho.
That's because fountains became consumer boats and he chased Top speed so they lightened them up to do so. Which makes them weak and soggy. The Apaches never did. heavy old bastards they are but cracking and delamination not an issue.

and rebuilt old race boats are way cooler than new. I loved reading that series on the Old Drambuie on Ice boat,

I was a young teen in the early 80s going to the Miami boat show looking at all of the boats. Some kids collected baseball cards and knew the starting line up of every team, I on the other hand collected boat brochures and knew of every guy to run a race boat. I had a misspent childhood. I actually did ask for 5 gallons of Fiberglass resin for Christmas one year.
I have an original Apache jean jacket from the early 90's in mint shape. Was going to list it on Ebay but my daughter snaked it and plans to wear it. I have no idea why.

the new open dining is much better than the old sit down scheduled dining IMO and food quality was good the last one I took. I usually do a few nights at the other higher end restaurants and I never have dinner at the buffet . I suck them up for lunch because the wife and kids like to graze.
My parents have done just about every cruise line there is from Seabourn to the megaships and find the RCL and NCL is the best value. She would always refuse to book us on a carnival because they are so white trash.
ive heard Carnival is the worst

actually it's not, there had literally not been any issues that week for a long time on the route we were on even though it's the last week of hurricane season. We always vacationed that week before kids, it was an off time for work so i could escape with no income loss.
Parents did an NCL cruise from Copenhagen last summer, they loved it and did countries no one really does. Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Germany and a couple others.
that is hurricane season for the carribean albeit the end of the season but still not the best time to book.

I don't equate Viking because they are mainly river cruises so a different dynamic. Although I hav heard good things. I hated our RC cruise. Noisy, cheap and the regular food was frozen diners at best. We paid for the upgrade on the ship as I wasn't going to eat the regular food all week and that upgrade was very good.

last NCL i was on we got chased around the Caribbean by a tropical storm over thanksgiving week. Hadn't been a storm that week in decades and we had servers passing our Dramamine at the tables it was so rough. Only "bad" cruise experience i really have had.
that really is a bad time to go though. I find NCL is a step above so I prefer to not hear screaming children on the boat
