Yep. And why did that fizzle?

My thoughts are because the established republicans were not buying into any of it and the Tea Party themselves found out real quick where the money for their pockets was. 😉

Most that I knew left with a nice package, and have found other jobs. I think the biggest thing that affects people is the environment change, and it was a big one.

    Other half?

That is true. I think after the initial shock that most had when they were cut at our facility was it probably was the best thing that could have happened.

Damn, 28 years is a good ride. I can imagine there's been a lot of change over that time period. I've moved 4 times in my life for work and never worked at one place more than 6-7 years. I admire your dedication.

I really wish I was young again. LOL. It was really a pretty good gig up to about 4 or 5 years ago. I am a maintenance guy working mostly with PLC's and HMI functions.

I heard that the shakedown in Chicago was pretty ugly. I knew a few who jobs were eliminated and they had been there a long time.

So from a conservative standpoint what's the solution? As a liberal my mind jumps to preventing or regulating the mergers.

I started here when it was General Foods 28 years ago. As they have been bought up by all these different entities, it has been take take take. I realize that is the way of the world now and I am free to go other places. Thing is I would be giving up all my vacation and there really is not a lot of other options where I could make what I do now so I am riding it out as long as I can.

Yeah, the beer world is crazy right now, lots of sales, mergers, private equity investments. As a craft beer guy it's becoming a chore keeping up with who's independent and who's been bought out. Then you have to weight the difference between a company like Lagunitas selling to Heineken vs a Goose Island selling to AB-inBev vs Ballast Point selling to Constellation Brands... everyone is trying to take advantage of the industry's booming growth.

Do you boycott Kraft and Heinz too? 3G was behind that merger.

Yes, I do. My wife worked for Kraft so I know the whole story. She wasn't canned, she left on her own after seeing what they're about. :flush:

I am with Edmo on this. I currently work for KraftHeinz and since the merger, it has been take all you can from the employee's

Always????? What you are a decent person because sometimes you drive sober?  Fuck you.  Your answer was" Plenty and been caught too. " How many times do people speed before they get caught. If you got caught then chances are you are a habitual impaired driver. You put your own selfish convenience against the lives of other people. I wished death on you before you fuck up someone else's life. That's a damn site better than you who risks other people's lives because you are selfish and stupid.  Hey why don't you tell me that you are a better driver drunk because it relaxes you? Dumbfuck.

You always hope that an impaired driver will take out themselves or their own family and have to live with it. It never happens that way.

    http://www.torontosun.com/2016/02/23/marco-muzzo-on-crash-that-killed-four-i-feel--troubled

I'm sure if you pulled something like this you'd "feel troubled " too.

    Wake up asshole.

You really are fucking stupid. Can you drink and not be impaired? Where did I say I was caught as an impaired driver? If you are so superior to other people that you feel you can be judge and jury without knowing a fucking thing about the circumstances maybe you are in the wrong line of work. Or maybe you should just shut the fuck up.

Then you are a stupid selfish asshole that deserves to die. I hope you only take yourself out when it's time.

Not only are you a dumb fuck but a real pussy also. You don't know me or anything about me. I really have no desire to sit and try to explain simple shit to a closed minded conceited asshole, but I will give it a shot.

I think it is great that you put yourself on some kind of pedestal and feel you can judge people by a comment on the internet. You obviously missed a calling. Never said that I was always driving impaired now did I, but somehow you knew that? Wishing death on a person is a good trait. I can respect that.

I hope you choke on your boyfriend's dick.

How many on here support Trump's Muslim ban yet are against cops surveilling places where drunk drivers are more likely to be?

Evidently impaired driving caused the deaths of 10,000 Americans per year.

Unless the Muslims are buying those fuckers the drinks, they don't even come close.

    What a dumb fuck........

Early morning coffee rant....some of you may want to look away (sorry Dave).

I know I've got empathy (and psychotic) issues, but I am finding unbelievable joy and laughter in watching the MSM and all the whiny, crybaby coverage and fawning over what an "powerful" concession speech Hillary gave. Holy shit.   Screens filled with crying eyes and just inconsolable masses of humanity.  It's the most epic coverage of what we are now.....a complete "milk-toast" nation.  "Bucking up" and dealing with life's little challenges and failures is no longer acceptable.  Schools and colleges are offering counseling and "safe places" in which to cry and be swaddled in warm blankets and flowing love from others in the same sad, pathetic little boat.  WTF?  Why are we so weak?  Why is our nation as a whole just a bunch of whiners whose sole purpose is to place blame for their unhappiness on others?  Life can be hard.  It carries both fantastic moments of joy and exhilaration, and deep let-downs and sorrows.  Why does the majority of the leftest seem to feel that the "sweet" life moments should be downplayed and turned more toward bitter and sadness?  Why do we feel every little moment in history should be met with ample counseling and "togetherness"?  Are we no longer promoting the ability to get over things and move on?  It sure doesn't seem like it.

Here's the reality of what teachers, indoctrinators and counselors aren't teaching their poor and sorrowful students; while the perpetual and majority whining Americans, whose hate and jealousy masked itself in their "betterment and justice for us all" speech and rhetoric justifying their belittlement, name calling and smugness of others who were not "buying in" completely, the "angry" Americans were building their own campaign.  The "silent majority" who have been taking this crap, watching it flow into their houses from every possible media source while trying to raise their children to be self-sufficient good and decent people.  Trying to raise citizens able to pull them selves up by their own bootstraps and cut their own successful path in life and contribute positively to America and our society, made a plan....THEY VOTED.  And damn! SCREAMED VOLUMES that was way overdue.  And it's about time.

Maybe, in time, the disillusioned and confused leftists will accept this for what it was.....the vast majority of Americans just didn't want to feel sad with you and you were not going to make them.  They don't want to feel like the government needs to step in and "fix them". They don't want government in their personal business at every turn. Sorry for your luck if you feel so unbearably sad about this election.  But hey, maybe, instead of feeling the need to get all whiny again...maybe do what the rest of us did.....get angry.  And if necessary...get violent.  Those two things make change happen faster and more decisively than anything else.  And I think I can speak for most when I say we, the ones who voted against Hillary, the ones who voted against the continued "pussification of America" will be ready.

Hey MC...how many words was that?  :lmao:

I believe you should be the next travelling grief counselor and go spread your message across the nation. And while you are at it, slap everyone of those whiney bitch ass teachers.
