No surprise from a dick head like Doug, the guy is complete douche and bigger than any court, just imagine a Liberal doing this

to have it in for Tory and Toronto to take historic steps over this is beyond reason - disturbed

I love it, fuck the stupid politics of Toronto, they get nothing done and half of them don't even show up most of the time.

Premier of Toronto looses again - SloganMan to speak at noon about how unfair he is treated

Doug should do the right thing and lay off the dictatorship of a sore loser and just make it 2022 to reduce the council like he should have in the first place.

Buck-a-Beer is here we all have waited for this moment

“The province,” Superior Court Justice Edward Belobaba wrote, “clearly crossed a line” when it suddenly introduced legislation cutting the number of wards to 25 from 47 in the middle of an election. He called the matter before him “unprecedented.”

Saying the legislation’s cut to council “substantially interfered with both the candidate’s and the voter’s right to freedom of expression” guaranteed by the Charter, the judge ordered an election continue on the basis of 47 wards, returning to a state before Bill 5, the Better Local Government Act, was tabled.

The judge also called the legislation “unconstitutional.”

Ford will get what he wants...

"Premier Doug Ford will invoke notwithstanding clause to reduce size of Toronto city council"

  3. The 407 program and Injection sites/Meth clinics should be soon, we can only hope.

1.6 million a year in Toronto just to operate those injection sites.. a person who dies while on welfare/odsb it is limited to the services they receive when they die (meaning no burial stone etc), it wont cost that much for a few extra deaths, plus those druggies will stop being a drain on the system, win win? These injection sites don't help people, they just condone the use of the drugs. No different than basic income pilot, it does not help people get jobs, just allows them to collect extra money while staying at home watching TV.

A drop from 3% to 1.5% raise is still a savings, don't you learn math? Counselors cost $115,000 a year.. a staffer.. maybe $60,000, back to the math question I just asked, if they let 20 go and only hire 5 at a cheaper salary, is that not a overall savings?

Also this is documented -> “This will raise your hydro rates,” Fedeli said. “Last year, Hydro One applied for a rate increase citing higher executive compensation. They asked Ontario to raise hydro rates to pay for their raises last year. What’s going to stop them from doing that this year and now that it’s wildly exorbitant?”

So, wouldn't cheaper executive pay equal less demand to compensate executives? I am not sure, but that sounds like cheaper rates for the consumer, my math may be off.

Trail, the regional chair appointment instead of election means no need to run an election just for that position, all the extra paperwork, wasted costs for advertising for the people running etc.

Trail, you don't see 6 billion in efficiencies, but they will also come and make a difference in the long run (Hydro board/CEO, Council, Welfare, Environment Projects, Basic Income Pilot, Public elections for the Regional Chair etc).

Quite impressive for only 2 months of being in office.

good stuff another $1.45 a year saved SWEET

What about a reduction for tags

The Premier of Toronto is doing a cracked up job - no savings for other Cities like he saved for Toronto SAD

A dollar's a dollar, hopefully tags are next (and the e-testing). Drivers License renewal was already jacked multiple times in the past few years, Whynn just wanted to keep penalizing drivers.

He did stop elections for the regional chair for a few regions. More will come, its only been two months young grasshopper.

Does anyone buying a Tesla need a rebate? What if RR or Cadillac offered EVs, should those cars be subsidized?

Well Cadillac did/does make a EV and people got the rebates.

Today the biggest Ontario EV incentives are on the Cadillac ELR – discontinued in Canada – and the BMW i3 and i3 ReX. Those get you $13,000 if you purchase or take a three-year lease.

lol deal with it - I don't like Doug never have and never will he is everything I am against in a Politician and more so a leader(less)

So far he has proved to be a complete idiot like expected - This isn't to say the PC party is all of that, they might end up that way under Doug.

Can't wait for you all to defend his deficits

He has done exactly what he said he would do.. Far from being an idiot.

He wont have deficits like the liberals did, may take him a year or two to get things back to even but he will. Just wait till he gets to teachers and healthcare...

In terms of the 'support muslim' bullshit just cause of the sex-ed.. there is sooooooooooooo many religious people who didn't care for it, and that is in the numbers that voted for him, not just one ethnic group.

The new Doug Ford government is cutting a planned three per cent welfare increase in half and scrapping a basic income pilot program his Progressive Conservatives Ontario promised to keep during the spring election camapaign.

Social Services Minister Lisa MacLeod said Tuesday the increase promised by the defeated Liberal government will be reduced to 1.5 per cent while the PC administration embarks on a 100-day revamp of all social assistance programs.

“They spent money the province didn’t have,” MacLeod said of Kathleen Wynne’s Liberal government, whose ill-fated budget projected a multi-billion dollar deficit this year.

She described the 1.5 per cent increase as “compassionate” and said the basic income pilot program in three locations across the province as “quite expensive.”

“It was certainly not going to be sustainable,” she said, promising details soon on how the program will be wound down. “Spending more money on a broken program wasn’t going to help anyone.”

MacLeod evaded a question on whether the government would consider a return to a work-for-welfare program, which the Mike Harris PCs implemented in the 1990s.

“The best social program is a job,” she said, paraphrasing Harris, adding “for those who can get one.”

With 100% certainty I can recommend an MK4 body jetta. TDI or 1.8 turbo. And dont let him get anything automatic.

I know so many people who cant drive a standard car and its got to be the easiest thing going.

I sold my chev pickup 2 months ago just due to fuel and repair costs. Picked up a rock solid no rust 03 tdi jetta 5 speed only has 180k km on it. ive cleaned it up, new 17 inch rims, repainted front clip, tint, double din deck and added a sub in there I had collecting dust. All said and done ive got just over $5K into it and the fuel mileage is incredible. I get 5l per 100 km avg. compared to the 23l per 100km avg in my truck

As for insurance, im now 21 fully licenced but with 3 outstanding tickets that clear up in the next year. I have that car insured full coverage for $1600 a year

A MKIV is way too much maintenance for Irv. But if you ever need any parts Tommy let me know, been driving MKIV TDI's for 10 years and have a fair bit of parts hanging around, in Beaverton so close to you as well. I had my timing tensioner let go on Thursday, timing jumped, bended a few valves, so Friday I went and bought a 03 jetta tdi from the Honda Dealer in Whitby they had for sale from a trade in for $750, a low 430,000 kms on it! Great beater cars but low mileage ones are too expensive.

OMG the price of used seadoos, sellers want huge money for piles of shit. People want almost full price for skis with engine damage or major issues.  I guess sleds aren't any different come fall. I guess it is good in one way as I sold my jet boat for way more money than I was expecting

Agree on that, people selling Sparks are retarded.. buy my 2016 90 hp spark for $8000.. Not much less than new.

Went to see a guy who has a non- running 2015 gtx 130 (a lower end model) for $5500... and it looked like it has been dragged down the road and run over with no trailer.. Crazy.

I just bought a 2014 GTX 215.. I think I got a fair deal, but the deals are hard to find.

Anyone want my 91 seadoo xp for $2500? :D

  14. But.. Jus-dont will be out fall of 19. That means if Doug can get agreement from PC Fed leader about no carbon tax.. at the most 9 months of it, or Doug fights it in court like he said he would which could delay or stop it all together itself. Its really not a smart plan by Justin at this point to enforce it for provinces that are pushing back.

Kill the drive clean program next please dougy!
