A friends son carrying on a family pastime. He got 1st place in the 800 class and his cousin got a 3rd. Their dads were the top guys back in the early 90"s.

Where was this?

When I was heading up to my cottage Friday I passed a few trucks with water sleds.

Sunny and 63⁰ here. A few black flies, but not as bad as last night.

The blackflies seem to have calmed down a bit out in the open but imagine thick as thieves in the bush. The skitters are brutal but easy enough to keep at bay with lighting a couple of the green coils.

The skeeters are out at times, but today wasn't bad. We are out on the deck now and the black flies are getting a little thicker, lol.

Spent the weekend in the bush. Not one tick. Come home and cut the grass and go inside and sit down. Fucking tick climbing up my arm.

I think grass is one of the places ticks love to ambush pets and people.

May 18th, 1953: Jacqueline Cochran, flying a Canadian-built F-86 Sabre at Edwards AFB, Calif., became the first woman to fly faster than sound. She averaged 652.337 mph on a 100-kilometer closed-course to earn the women's jet speed record.
Cochran was also the first woman to land and take off from an aircraft carrier, the first woman to reach over Mach 1 in a Northrop T-38 Talon, the first woman to pilot a bomber across the North Atlantic (in 1941) and later to fly a jet aircraft on a transatlantic flight, the first female pilot to make a blind (instrument) landing, the only woman ever to be president of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (1958–1961), the first woman to fly a fixed-wing, jet aircraft across the Atlantic, the first female pilot to fly above 20,000 ft with an oxygen mask, and the first woman to enter the Bendix Transcontinental Race.

Jackie still holds more distance and speed records than any pilot living or dead, male or female.

Good morning...last wake up in the suburbs as residents for us. Trailer is loaded, dropping off all of our Comcast/Xfinity equipment at 11 and we'll be northbound by 2pm. It's going to take a little while for it to set in that we'll officially be "locals" and can start complaining about the "tourists" LOL

Have a great day all!
