Fingers get colder, quicker but that’s about it. Full range of motion and strength.

I could see white when first pulled the hand out.

I did a quick flex of each finger immediately and they all moved.

Thought the white was bone, but the doc said that was tendons. If it were bone, the tendons were goners and I’d not been able to move the fingers.

Luckily I was in pretty good shape and well muscled at the time, or it might have ended much worse.

I was chatting with the customer, flipping the chute and operating the old school air lock at the same time. 15 years with a spotless safety record leads to complacency, was what I racked it up to. Stupidity on my part. Been running belt trucks, trailer mixers and most of the much larger fleet for a decade. Different truck almost every day. This was a little 3 axle grocery getter. Harmless little thing.

My failure went global company wide for safety briefs and pics for a year lol.

Used to get everything made by London Machinery . Ran a couple trucks that had US made mixer assemblies. Quality parts, well made. Took a bit to get used to how they performed, but solid.

Now that it’s global, they ship in mixer assemblies from offshore, mount to an international or a Mack

Turkey is one country that makes the mixer assemblies. Junk.

North American shit you could beat like a red headed stepchild and load it too way above rated capacity. Turkish, not so much. Fold faster than superman on laundry day.

If they gave you exercises for your hand keep doing them the coldness should go away over time it takes the nerves a long time to heal and get back to normal.......

I actually went to the physiotherapy appointments, mostly because it was a WISB requirement. Did most of the exercises they wanted.

I think it helped. After a couple months I had %90 of the strength the left hand had. I can crush skulls with that hand now, should he situation require, lol.
