It's much cooler here than where I was in New Hampshire. When I was working outside in these temps I was always near a lake or river that I could jump in and cool down as needed. It's only 80 miles away as the crow flies from Island Pond. The extra 900 feet of elevation helps keep us cooler here. It's 79⁰ here in Vermont right now. It's 88⁰ where I lived in New Hampshire now. Ossipee is usually about 8⁰ to 10⁰ warmer than Island Pond. Only hit 90⁰ on the weather station once in the 13 years that we have been here.

I can't imagine having to go through the heat wave Europe just had without AC.

I mean, it's all relative. The blood thickens or thins as we acclimate. It's quite cool here to where it is in the deep south (Florida doesn't count) but the body adapts. If either of us were to go to SC right now, we'd need one of those alert buttons around our necks for heat stroke. My adaptation in the military was pretty tough. I remember just standing there sweating like I was in an oven while others around me who were from hot climates were concerned for my health. I was miserable. Hell, just having to go back a few years ago during summer was brutal. I remember sitting in a chair under a covered porch and watching the sweet drip off all my fingers.

Most of the summer I had a window fan in my room on the second floor. All we had was one very heavy Westinghouse AC that was installed down stairs in the living room. When it would get too hot upstairs we would sleep downstairs.

98 here. Pool is 86.

We didn't have AC when I was a kid either. No pool but we lived on a brook. Cold Brook was the name and it lived up to the name. I've looked at some of the places that we used to jump off into the river as an adult. It's amazing none of us got hurt, lol

There were plenty of other lakes, ponds and rivers nearby. We used to go to the rope swing On Golden Pond if we could get one of our parents to drive us. Squam Lake is the real name. We were in the water all summer as kids

Went out in the boat yesterday and you couldnt sit still, had to be moving or jump in the water . Beers were going down like water .

Went back to the boat this morning at 9am and decided it was too hot for that shit again. Sitting in the A/C today fuck it lol.
