Marjorie Taylor Greene accused Senator Mitch McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, of being a “possible Communist spy.” The accusation comes after the 84-year-old Kentucky Republican was found unconscious at his Washington, D.C., home and hospitalized on June 14.

MTG accused Elaine Chao of possibly being a Communist spy while criticizing Republicans over Mitch McConnell’s ongoing hospitalization. When asked about McConnell’s weeks-long hospitalization and the lack of information available about his condition, MTG told TMZ in a video, “I think it’s extremely serious, and I’d like to say, shame on the Republican party for staying silent while such a powerful senator is basically lying in the hospital like a vegetable.”

She then claimed that McConnell’s wife traveled to China and met with the country’s vice president shortly after his medical emergency, adding that she believed Chao could be a “possible communist spy.”

When the reporter pointed out that she was calling his wife a “possible Chinese communist spy,” MTG responded, “100 percent,” before questioning why a woman would leave her husband’s side while he was “dead or dying” in the hospital.
