  • Gold Donating Member

Companies can begin filing claims through a new federal system

https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/trump-admin-begin-refunding-166b-businesses-wake-supreme-court-decision

Companies?

so... what about the Joe Blow average citizen that's overpaid for said products from these companies since all this lunacy began?

don't expect the price of anything to go down now or ever again.

Trump once again hands big business a windfall and the consumers got fucked.

tell me this is why you voted for the cocksucker

U.S. Customs has estimated that it owes a total of $166 billion in tariff refunds, and the agency's legal filings suggest that the initial phase would tackle the majority of affected imports. On Tuesday, a Customs official told a judge that the vast majority of eligible importers signed up for electronic payments, as the agency is requiring, and that group is owed about $127 billion.

Will consumers see any of that money land in their pockets? Probably not, economics and legal experts say.

The cost of tariffs has been woven into the prices of many products in a way that can make it hard to separate out what customers ultimately paid. Often, manufacturers, suppliers, importers, retailers and shoppers all absorb costs along the way. And with tariffs landing on the heels of historic inflation, companies big and small have argued that they ate much of the cost to avoid spooking shoppers with higher prices.

This tariff-refund portal is about to be America's hottes...

Exactly two months after the Supreme Court struck down most of President Trump's tariffs, the U.S. government has set Monday as the day when some companies can begin requesting refunds.

I understand your frustration. However, companies are technically the ones that paid the tariffs. I don't know how the end consumers could fairly be reimbursed.

166 billion to return? So any idea how much it cost taxpayers to collect this and now how much to refund it?

4D chess.

idk how much it's personally effected myself or our family directly... but the collective of us all certainly got a good fucking... a $166B fucking that we know of thus far.

the stable f'ng genius and his executive orders walked right past congress for this... and they'll thus suffer for it soon. just sheer idiocy

It may, and I stress may allow importers to cushion the blows coming from the fresh disruption on global shipping and commerce. Consumers and taxpayers will be the losers, no doubt of that whatsoever.

The rake that is government bureaucracy, will now come off on the way out, as it did on the way in.

Mr Trump still has more in the positive column than the negative, unlike his predecessor.

  • USA Donating Member

Stage two on tarriffs is being set. Companies still have to show some damages or this is a shit show. If they passed costs on, and are just collecting again...this is PPP all over again and the taxpayer will get hosed...again.

But yes....TRUMP!!!!! For trying to bring manu and jobs back here should be the enemy. And let's also stop pretending for one second that we still have a functioning government. We do not. It's EO all the way now on both sides. The very ones not wanting a "king" will cheer when theirs is put in the chair.

Violence is all we have left. Whew...I'd hate to be in a big city. Lot's of meat to eat though. Good protein....but refrigeration will be a problem.

I guess we need to take a look at who is doing the convictions at this point. And kill them.

A lot of it too!

Canada's economy declined 0.2% in the last quarter of 2025. The rest of the world's major economies are all growing. Under Mark Carney's Liberal leadership, we're being left behind.

he couldn't get the tariffs through congress... same way he couldn't get the war with Iran through congress

his XO's expose his impotency

tariffs aren't how you bring back manufacturing and we're struggling to fill the manufacturing jobs currently available today

distinguishing campaign rheotoric over the reality of accomplishing such an aspirational goal is tough for some...

where's that Obama care replacement, or are we still in the concept stage after his first term and 16 months into his second term

it's all bluster and bullshit... and Trump Devotion Syndrome is an actual thing

Right. And that's my point. We're going to be governed by EO's from now on. And something has to be done to try. Tarriffs work. Period. Do they work in every sector, no. But it's clear the reinvestment in America has been happening. I'm tired of all the Anti-America losers pretending it isn't.

And that "devotion" think isn't going to fly. TDS is what it is and it's embeded in steel now.

Like I said, violence is what we can expect. Because history has dictated it in these situations for thousands of years. IDGAF who doesn't want to hear that either.

great... imagine the XO's the next dem can or might try after Ding Dong's attempts, do we want more of that?

tariffs along with changes in policies could work if they went through the normal channels. you are familiar with Smoot Hawley though aren't you? how'd that work out? if you don't have big business, corporate America and the taxpayers on board, failure.

as a 2X Perot voter and supporter... where we're at has been highly frustrating for a very long time. politicians and corporate America opened the floodgates to the position we're currently in long ago and the odd's of reversal at this point are slim to not.

can you cite the things you don't like about Trump or his current administration?

the likelihood of political violence in this country imo is very unlikely... especially with MAGA fracturing as it is. might just be you and a handfull of the duck dynasty guys. lol

Nothing will work with the dem party. ZERO. They want America in ruins. Period.

I can cite plenty I don't like..including Trump most of the time. And I do mean PLENTY. But I'm not focusing on a singly point of hate like some retard minion. I'm looking at the larger picture...like where will we be in 10, 20, 30 years.

MAGA is not fracturing. Because "MAGA" isn't an organization. And from what I see...it isn't going anywhere. MAGA isn't Trump's baby anymore. It's grown past that. First person I see fighting under a Trump flag is going to get relieved of his weapons. And they will only be asked once.

The violence thing has been talked about for a decade now by historical scholors. They all agree we're on the pricipice. The only question is, what will it look like? Rural vs. Urban but, in how many ways...and to what end? No scenario I've read about looks good for the left. None at all. I don't even know how they can prepare for it....and denial based on some weird virtue is not a good idea.

maybe the entire system is broken... as few of our elected officials past or present seem to have any intention to fix anything that's been ignored or broken. just XO'ing shit is not a solution and as stated previously, what happens when the opposition holds the reigns, more XO's?

where we (our kids really) will be in 10/20/30 years is more broke and more in debt. he's done nothing in my eyes to improve that situation, nor has the legislative branch since 2025. his focus upon 'righting his wrongs' has cost the R's long term political capital they couldn't afford to lose or spend. lame duck, incoming.

MAGA is Trump... just ask him! he defines it... you need his quotes? MAGA is the old Tea Party... just with sillier hats. Is MAGA still America First?

text me when the initial shots are fired... I've got other shit to concern myself with in the meantime. bc

EO's is how things are getting done right now. There is no other alternative. Pretending their is some other way is foolish.

Pretending we need to concern ourselves with what DC has seemingly NEVER cared about is stupid too. Come on, the Nat'l debt and it's effects on our children? That's what we are pretending bothers us. No. ESPECIALLY not the left. They give two fucks about our children's future at all...or women for that matter.

You all can identify "MAGA" with Trump if you want. I'm telling you it's not that. Because it's not. I know some pretty fucking scary people that will tell you the same too. I thing you all identifying us with Trump is a safe space of sorts. Trump is a bufoon but has the right idea...but had the right ideas. But DC is a broken institution full of traitors on both sides. It's a lost cause at this point.
