I've mixed feelings on him... but, if you watch the video he's bringing the fight to the topic which is likely going to be bad for others still doing the 'Montana Thing' to avoid sales taxes, assuming you know about the topic. dunno

Don't know anything about it. Here years ago I know people drove around with Maine plates on their vehicles, alot of tractor-trailer trailers with Maine plates. Don't see it much anymore i'm assuming they changed something in the last 10 years?

I'm not a huge fan, but TN did him dirty to try and make an example out of him..

yes... can you believe wealthy people like avoiding taxes?

now... here's a ? for the peanut gallery

why are cars/trucks/etc charged sales tax by their states more than once? every time a car/truck gets sold and re-titled, it gets taxed AGAIN. that's one tax I'd be in favor of seeing go away. tax it the first time when it's new and not over and over into perpetuity

idk if he can win this in a court of law... but public opinion is a different story. he's going to make a lot of enemies with the people still taking advantage of the Montana loophole.

Its a numbers game, and my guess/bet is that he's got a legal team that told him the estimated cost to fight it and chances to win, vs pleading guilty. He took that number guesstimated how much revenue he'll make from putting the fight on youtube and determined the cost was worth the fight.

Never underestimate government corruption or incompetence

I've got Maine plates on my trailers.

Lower sales tax, lower registration costs, and the ability to buy multi year, instead of having to renew every single year.

Did he ever beat that jet ski water spraying case he was fighting Tennessee on? I’m sure after that the state was just waiting to get him on some stupidity.

Violating his 1st Amendment and Freedom of Speech?

There's some shady shit going on with the prosecution and it's apparent based on his commentary they are trying to make an example of him.

I'm leaning in his direction over this... especially on his freedom to publicly complain. news

Still is a thing. The plate is called a semi permanant. One can reg a trailer thru a Maine agent Instead of $75 a yr thru the state they live in it is around $200 for 10 yrs.

WE dont pay sales tax on cars here , new or used. Or Boats , sleds , or anything else. We do have high prop taxes and high rooms and meals taxes for hotels and restaurants.
