Feel sticky this summer? That’s because it’s been record muggy East of the Rockies

We've had some high humidity here in northern Vermont this summer, but nothing crazy yet. Although we have another stretch to get through right now, lol.

It looks like most of New England did break any records.

  • Got back yesterday from our place in Northern Wisconsin was 93 yesterday and 91 on Friday with dew points in the mid 60's. I can pass on the hot weather bring on the 20's and 30's.

Hot, muggy AF and this shit ass air from Canada all summer suicide

The smoke has been more noticeable than any potential increase in humidity.

But that's only going by feel, as I don't measure or track humidity

It's been bearable here with highs in the low 80s and dew points in the upper 50s to low 60s. Today starts a four day stretch with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and dew points up to the upper 60s to low 70s.

We haven’t had much of a break from the high humidity since mid June maybe. Hot is fine but humid on top of that day after day sucks

That’s probably our average here in SE lower Michigan if I had to guess. Some days in the 80’s with a low Dew point would be great. Staying inside more because of the air quality anyways though so

Not much rain here to speak of except for the thunder storms back in late June or early July. There have been some thunder storms in the area but they have missed us.

The air quality hasn't been all that great here this summer.

Yup it does. Florida isn’t for me. One thing about N.E. Is constant change

Being at the speedway is like being on a airport tarmac and with 100 degree sun and 70 degree dew can be a bit of a challenge.

Fuck off ya miserable twat.. Poor pouts

It is no surprise that the hottest temperatures in the U.S. have been recorded in the Desert Southwest. In fact, the highest temperature recorded in California, 134 degrees, is also the current hottest air temperature on record on Earth and was measured in Death Valley, California, on July 10, 1913.

Most of the Plains states, which also can be an area with extreme heat and large temperature variations, have recorded temperatures over 120 degrees. A high temperature of 121 degrees was measured as far north as Steele, North Dakota, on July 6, 1936 and many of the records in the Plains were set in 1936, during the peak of the Dust Bowl. Oklahoma, for instance, reached its record of 120 degrees four times and in three different locations in the summer of 1936.

The Pacific Northwest and the Midwest also have numerous states with records over 115 degrees. For example, the hottest temperature recorded in Oregon is 119 degrees which was set twice in 1898, once on July 29 in Prineville and then on August 10 in Pendleton. Two locations also hold the record of 118 degrees in Missouri and both occurred on the same day, July 14, 1954.

Record temperatures in the Northeast and South are not as hot as in the West, but there are still some notable records. The 109-degree record for Maryland was first set on July 3, 1898, in Boettcherville, but has since been tied five times in three locations. One of the most recent state records set in the South was in Columbia, South Carolina, on June 29, 2012, when the mercury soared to 113 degrees.

Also of interest is that Alaska and Hawaii share the same record high temperature of 100 degrees. Alaska's record was set in Fort Yukon on June 27, 1915, and Hawaii's record occurred on April 27, 1931, near Pahala on the Big Island.

Summer has sucked. We have been working till around 1:30 since early july. Fuck it, almost over

Pretty typical summer here. Hot and humid for a week and then seasonable for another week & mix in a few spurts of cooler than average temps. It's August and the hottest is yet to come (here in MN it's called "State Fair weather").

Same here but part of that is due to the smoke. When it was in the 70's the N.W wind usually brought smoke in and we couldn't open windows.

Hot & Humid June & July and a lot of rain, now no rain here since the end of July so around 2 weeks now with no rain, going into the low 90's starting today and the humidity climbing back up, slight chance of rain Wednesday into Thursday.

The full moon was very bright the last few nights, the smoke from Canada cleared out for now. Suppose to be Perseid Meteor Showers the next few nights best viewing between 10pm & 2am around here.

Same here, about an inch of rain since July 20th. My sweet corn is just getting by but delayed because of the rain and partly the smoke.
