US import taxes will hit levels not seen in nearly 100 years

President Donald Trump began levying higher import taxes on dozens of countries Thursday, just as the economic fallout of his monthslong tariff threats has begun to create visible damage for the U.S. economy.

The import taxes will reach a level not seen in the U.S. in almost 100 years, with Americans expected to pay an average of 18.3% more for imported products. That’s the highest rate since 1934, according to the Budget Lab at Yale, a nonpartisan policy research center.

Despite the uncertainty, the Trump White House is confident businesses will ramp up new investments and jump-start hiring in ways that can rebalance the U.S. economy as a manufacturing power. But so far, there are signs of self-inflicted wounds to America as companies and consumers alike brace for the impact of new taxes

Once again, we the consumer have not been hurt. Despite what fake news MSM and the "professional economists" would like us to believe. Perhaps longer term we may feel a little pain but virtually none so far.

None so far is expected. You are buying old stock with no stability. I haven't yet seen any of our COGS go up from it either, but the next ordered batch of parts will. At that point, I am raising our prices. And before you all complain about sourcing things from Europe, it is a unique piece only made there and a whopping 6% of our total delivery. That being said, the price increases on my parts will be directly relayed to the customer and margin will be put on them at the same rate it always has been meaning on that portion of our gear the price increase will be WAY more than the tariff. This will both directly effect American customers and ones around the world.

Lol, I never said I was hurting. Stated it is a stupid policy that will hurt Americans by raising their taxes and their overall cost of goods. It's coming and you can blame yourself for celebrating it when things become harder for you to afford.
