Remember when Bongino found a hidden room back in May? That was intense. Now a second hidden room? Oh man. I’m glad they’re letting us know about this before actually investigating.

Well considering how they handled the dossier, Russiagate and Crossfire Hurricane I'd say this is a step forward.

How do you know this isn't what was found in the first hidden room?

We don’t, they decided to go for sensationalism before investigating.

And apparently it’s important enough that they’re not even going to investigate, rather hand it off to grassley, again. 🙄

Well lets hope they aren't making it up like they did to Trump.

I'd say it is a newsworthy story for America that they simply found RussiaGate documents to be destroyed.

What I don't understand is why it needs to go to Grassley's committee. Shouldn't the FBI be the one to investigate (not that they are completely trustworthy) and we know congress cannot prosecute....only the DOJ can.

Yes congress does have oversight but justice must come from the justice dept.

Exactly. Gives a bit of insight into the ‘seriousness’ of the matter.

Wouldn't say that Grassley has asked for it. Both should be reviewing it.

We had the DOJ/FBI/IC using opp research by the opponent when they knew it was fake lying to the FISA court and the American people to influence an election. I'd say it was pretty fucking serious even before any of this came out.

It was one of two ways both are actually beyond the biggest scandal in US history.

  1. A rogue DOJ/IC trying to influence an election ON THEIR OWN.

  2. We had an outgoing opponent admin directing them to do so.

Honestly I'm not sure what should concern the American people more.

A presidential candidate being accused and tried over 'collusion with Russia', "we're not going to let him win, right", "you mean with a cloth", "51 intel people say it is Russian disinformation"....

Methinks thou doest protest too much....

Yep. Stuff gets put in burn bags but not burned, conveniently left for someone to find.

Hillary did a better job bleaching her emails but professionals can't hide shit.

The easiest way to transport shit like that from 1 place to another is in burn bags. For 1, NO ONE will stop and ask you what it is, and no one would look at you twice. For another, carrying anything in a file to be destroyed invited the chance for paper to fall out.

I used to grab all the classified work I created in a day and walk it up to the S2 to be shredded in the cross cut shredder in my burn bag. My old lady would fill a burn bag every day. As easy as it is to do the right thing the right way, it is just as easy to do things the wrong way.

Conveniently left? It went how long before anyone found it?

You truly are a unicorn... someone who actually thinks the government never fucks up.

It's suspicious, at least to me. Your mileage may vary.

Spread misinformation about the election? They did, in 2020, and still to this day.

Not fake, just unimportant misdirection, hence them not investigating it themselves and instead handing off to a senator.

The information they found was pertinent to a Congressional investigation/hearing, and the FBI is obliged to hand it over to them. They can also be subpoenaed. That was not necessary for this issue.

Are you sure the FBI has stopped, or never started, doing an investigation on this?

The democrats would never do anything like that.... again, would they? lmafoea

They are not obliged before self investigating, which the FBI has the appropriate resources to do.

We only have what’s reported, something was found and Patel turned it over for further investigation. Nothing about the FBI investigating.

Earlier this month, however, CNN reported that the FBI is investigating former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey for possible false statements to Congress following a referral from the current CIA Director John Ratcliffe, which was also related to the intelligence assessment on Russia’s election interference.

2 second Google.....

Google so fast. Too bad they didn’t keep this evidence as part of their investigation along with all their other evidence. No worries, Grassley’s on it - many hands make light work.

I think someone lower in the chain of command saw the hinky shit these fuckers were doing and when given the operutunity "misplaced " it so it would be discovered to hang those treasonous pieces of shit

If it was all fake and misinformation, how are there bags of documents about it?
