I don't hate Minnesota, Minnesota is awesome. Minnesota politics tend to suck for sure, but is that all people care about in the state they live in? If so, that sounds like a lame place to live. Some people are rooted in with their family, friends, property, hobbies, work etc. To move states for political reasons seems pretty pathetic. Minnesota is a really cool place. Most people aren't even very political at all because they are living their life.

When you go outside in nature or are with people you care about, politics don't matter abd they aren't affecting you. Not saying politics aren't important but in reality the stuff doesn't really affect my life besides my pocketbook.

If I moved to Wisconsin for example and had a similar property and everyone in my life went there with me, life would be about the same as normal except there wouldn't be as many cool places to go and a different culture that I don't like as much. There wouldn't be any big political difference in day to day life.

I don't know of any other place that can replace Northern MN for me.

Taxes reach out as far as these imbeciles can grab. And every year it grows and expands to pay for shit nobody rural cares about. I'm pretty secluded in the rural pick-up truck land and beauty and recreation are superior. BUT, The stink from liberal idiocy still catches us when the wind blows just right...or when property and sales taxes are paid.

If I were raising a family Minnesota would be much preferred over Wisconsin for the reasons you cite. Minnesota spends more on infrastructure and outdoor activities. Trying to get a simple bike or hiking trail built in Wisconsin is a monumental task.
