E-Bikes

  • Platinum Donating Member

Oh well..... Haven't ridden any bike in years and don't know a whole lot about e-bikes but figured I'd try one out. Just ordered this one with powerful dual motors and good ratings and cheap price.

Top speed supposedly 37 to 45mph and able to climb some serious hills which is what I was looking for. Technically probably not street legal....I think they have to be 750 or under and top speed not to exceed 28mph. . But I don't think I'll have any problem with this one since it has pedals and looks like a regular bike. But I'm sure the laws Will eventually change and you'll need to register and insure. The same deal happened when mopeds came out.... I was like 15 did not need a license or anything But that changed within a few years. Anyway I'm pretty excited to try something new out and maybe find some trails too. I still plan on maybe getting an Enduro type of motorcycle too. ... I'm probably done with crotch rockets used to have a GSXR 1100.

What do you have and are you happy with it.?

I would buy the cheapest one you think will work for you. Ride it around for a year and find out what you want in one and upgrade.

Captain buy American and anti-EV just bought a piece of shit chinese Ebike. That's fucking hilarious.

I'll give you a hint. ANY bike with a seat that looks like that is a complete piece of shit.

My old neighbor in Minnesota has 2 e-bikes of some sort. And they have no problem going 20+ mph. He said they have different settings depending on how much you want to pedal it with one setting making it work like a motorcycle. I canโ€™t remember the range they have but it was way more than i expected when he told me about it. He basically uses them like a motorcycle to ride around town on the weekends. He has had them for probably 5 years now. I personally have never ridden them.

..... Just a novelty item. I don't care if it breaks the first day. And it's built in California and shipped from California. Is there any All American bikes that I should have gotten ? . Maybe there will be when the Trump build In America takes effect . ๐Ÿ‘

And when was I ever anti- Ev..?. You like to make a lot of shit up. It's just not for me, The no exhaust noise alone is a big turn off. Bikes are a little different than cars though.

This bike has great ratings both on the direct website and on Amazon. And for the price it's just a throw away.... Like I said I'm not going to spend $10,000 on something I may not even like.

Well of course ... when youre a tall lanky geeky squid like you....lol.... You need an old banana seat that you can massage your bunghole with.

And if you're going to continue to be a complete asshole maybe just refrain from posting

I want something I can ride on the road that doesn't stick out ...I was thinking of getting an e-bike dirt bike with a motorcycle seat But I just don't feel like being pulled over all the time..... This definitely looks like a regular bike

Cool...... Got to do something to beat this boredom of retirement. Maybe it's only a fad for me since I usually do need a motor. But I figure what the hell

If you donโ€™t like it no big deal since you didnโ€™t blow your wad on one , can always go back to kawi H2R if this wasnโ€™t your thing! beer_cheers

If you're actually semi serious about riding trails I would have wanted more of a name brand with quality components. But if you're just looking to cruise around that one will be just fine. I ride an e bike once, I was a hater before but it was pretty cool. This past winter there were some super feels on Yamaha e bikes, under 2k for pretty good units and I believe they hadn't warranty also. And I believe there were deals on other brands too, the bike market has tanked, this is part of what tanked KTM apparently they made huge investments into ebikes after the COVID boom.

Yeah....just trying to expand some hobbies, as I'm bored as hell with infinite time on my hands.

I'm pretty new to the area and an e-bike should be perfect to explore. If I do find some nice trail areas and really enjoy this then of course I will upgrade......but for now I wanted something to tackle the rather hilly roads around here and from what little research I did, it sounds like a dual motor with lots of torque is the way to go and this seems to fit the bill.......... I should know in a couple days when this gets delivered.

EVERY part on that bike is chinese. Built in CA, lol. A sucker is born every day.

No, I ride bikes like I ride sleds. That seat profile is made for someone old, out of shape, and that can't ride. No real bike ever would have a seat like that. Any long or aggressive ride and you'll hate it. If you weren't a moron that did the opposite of what you state you will my posts wouldn't seem assholish.

It doesn't look anything like a regular bike. It looks exactly like a chinese ebike. It's exactly what every kid here rides to school. If you think that is low profile, that is funny.

Good you bought it before the tariffs hit the importing stock or it would be way more expensive.

Your points are all meaningless and irrelevant.

I could care less how many parts may be Chinese, we sure are limited (for now) on what we can get here.

That seat will be perfectly fine ...The reviews say it's very comfortable. And unless I'm getting a Motocross e-bike most of the seats are exactly that way. And I'm not looking to ride this thing like a motocross bike anyway....will be mostly lightly traveled local roads at a leisurely pace . So unlike your skinny ass, I expect no irritations.

It's got pedals and looks like a bicycle and blends in with others, that's exactly what I wanted. I don't need to draw attention to myself by the police. I have other vehicles for that.

Yup... And these tariffs that you so fear were a factor in my purchase at this time. Figure they may go up a bit ....But apparently this company has a huge warehouse in California where they both assemble and stock these units , so the tarriffs may not be that much an affect.

Im psyched for this little toy to arrive..... I put on nearly 15,000 miles on my moped as a kid on an italian-made Malaguti. 50cc engine that I never even had to rebuild in all those miles ๐Ÿ˜‚ ..... Identical to the one as below only in green. And Somehow I survived that seat for $15,000 miles...hmmm ๐Ÿค” .... That sucker would pull 40mph all day long.. It was one of the fastest mopeds at the time blew everyone away. I grew up in the moped era where you didn't need a license or anything... Did my paper route with it and everything went everywhere. Ahhh the memories ๐Ÿ˜…

So if I get a fraction of the mileage out of this cheap e-bike I'll be thrilled..... Some reviews have several thousand trouble-free miles on this exact bike. My friend bought a cheap eBike from Walmart over 5 years ago for him and his girlfriend, No issues and they still ride it today and have a blast....... So no worries here.

i'm rocking this bad bitch , but i ride woods only , twice a week. cost 4 times as much as the road types like viper bought. my buddy has 2 of those , and it gets him out riding . that is a great thing if something gets you moving. anything is better than sitting around getting fat . i was not quite a hater but it was not feasible for ebikes and regular bikes to ride together. i finally became one of two reg bikes. i'm 58 and figured why not. holy shit i love this thing. i'm riding twice as far at almost twice the average speed. less fatigue but it will wear you down to zero. no more dreading huge climbs , actually uphill is fun now too.

Nice... ๐Ÿ‘. Wait for Deephaven to give you shit about the seat... lmao ๐Ÿคฃ

Like I said this is a totally new experience for me. I get plenty of exercise elsewhere but have been trying new things and hobbies lately. I'm bored AF.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if you pulled the trigger on an e-bike....I knew you had Mt. bikes. Glad you're enjoying it. If this is something I get into or want a more trail oriented bike......then I will gladly upgrade. Not sure why the underlining started but it's appropriate here dunno. But for now this cheap starter bike should fit the bill. Thanks for your input

My 70+ yo neighbor has one and got it simply for the expanded range he can now explore.

I would say it's a commuter type of bike. You could technically take it on trails but I wouldn't, it's not that kind of bike. But I'm sure it'll get you around bike paths and roads fine. Don't be a dumbass ebiker/biker when out on the roads please.

The funny part is I actually hate bike riders on the road and now I will be one of them. ๐Ÿ˜‚ But I do plan on sticking to the most back roads there are with little traffic but I need to get mirrors. I'm lost without mirrors and need to see traffic approaching from the rear. I will always stay as far to the right as possible. That is my pet peeve with many riders hogging up the road and making it hard to pass in a vehicle.

See, that's also part of it. If I can now find some areas that are a bit off road.amd scenic, I may bring and start using my drone again. Anything to add a little adventure to my mundane retirement life lol. Golf might be next ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Just starting to build a little knowledge on this subject but plan on renting a motorhome to travel a bit and see if we like it before plunking down the cash and actually buying one. Hmmmm and bringing an E-bike along for the trip sounds like not a bad idea either.

retired UPS driver neighbor and his wife have the Harley ones and love em. we live on a big long steep hill and they pedal right up with little to no effort... which at times kinda makes me consider getting one. I have to start walking my single speed dirt jumper about halfway up

they got them at a major discount because a family member of his works for HD in Tomahawk

Perfect Chinese companion to go with your ebike and motorhome rental exploring. The tracking is supposed to be very good. I personally wouldn't want to go through a woods trail with it. But the more open area would be great. It is their first drone with LiDAR forward facing obstacle avoidance. Even I would have a hard time crashing this thing going forward, LOL. They must already be in the country because they just makes them down about $500 from their original retail. I got the email today.

Wow...

They've really come a long ways since my purchase of the now dinosaur Typhoon drone. ๐Ÿ˜†

Have to see how serious I get before considering getting a new one. I'm not even sure if my batteries will charge. I did put it into a storage state of charge the last time I used them but it's been years. Time just flies.

You would be amazed at what they can do now. Your's would be comparable to my old Phantom 3. My Magic 3 is 4 to 5 times better in every aspect. The one I linked is even better. Even with all of the trees around me here at home I can easily get a mile range without issues. At a big lake, ocean or a wide open area battery life is your biggest issue. 5 to 6 miles is easy to achieve with today's much longer battery life.

Yamaha dropped their eBike line dipshit. Typical @mnstang spewing bullshit about things he knows nothing about. idiot
