Glad I held off switching to polaris!

This is awesome news.

So what is the relationship between Argo and AC going forward. Would you say they are partner companies? It doesn't say Argo bought them.. but the guy is President and CEO of Argo and is also staying with Argo. They both make sxs..

Either way, great news! Good thing for 9 lives!

If I had to guess, Cat will be a snowmobile only brand , then offset the other months for Argo production on cats lines.

increased manufacturing for argo without having to spend a dime on new property , asm lines etc. and Brad can sell it to the equity group as a added value

I would need some serious odds. Like infinity to 1.

Aperion group owns Ontario gear and drive/argo

Be interesting to see what they do with the dirt lineup. Cat go away and build Argo offerings only? Does Argo dump the Chinese imports for their wheelers and sxs and do a Johnny morris-esque deal? Does cat offer sportier units and build their utility line as Argo? Is Johnny morris a friend of cat or textron? Does tracker get the boot?

Good questions. Tom mentioned there was already a call with tracker today and while it's still early it sounds like there is interest to continue the relationship.

Having no AC dirt in favor of Argo dirt seems like a poor move. AC is still a well known name and still has more dealers. Only Argo dealer I know is Tom. I could see cat being sporty and argo being utility, possibly. Utility should still be part of cat though as they've always had that.

I wonder if all AC dealers will get Argo.

AC's dirt side consists of a few small variations of 1 atv, 1 sxs, and one sport sxs. I saw an ex engineer give a guesstimate of $50m to develop a competitive line up.

Textron annihilated the dealer base, and disenfranchised the few they didn't get rid of. It's basically impossible to keep the doors open selling AC only dirt products (and has been for quite some time now) given the limited product line, and poor reputation.

The release said that AC would be for the trails, and Argo for where the trails end.

My SWAG (scientific wild ass guess) is that the atv and sxs get AC stickers, while argo sticks with those amphibious things. I also bet that all argo dealers get an offer to add AC, and vice versa (within reason, based on geography)

Tracker needs their own plastics/gauges/etc. You can't have them selling identical units, it devalues the AC and or Argo name (not that either name have a huge value).
