One of my riding buds daughter works at the pharmacy I used.

She told me my co pay for a 3 month supply of generic flowmax was $90 and the co pay for the statin Im on is $40 

Out of curiosity I asked her to tell me the price if I didnt use insurance and just paid cash for both .

The flowmax is $28 and the statin is $16.90

This fucking ins company is happy enough making money off the insurance . They want to make money of me paying for scripts too. 

Then they wonder why fruitloop shot one of them.

Sure makes sense to not use your insurance in some of these cases.  I’ve seen the same thing in Sconnie with some things the little woman’s daughter uses.

im curious, what did your doctor tell you about the side effects of Tamsulosin? i understand statin drugs are vvvery bad for the body.

I was leary about going on the statin. He put me on it when I still smoked saying I had A  13% chance of heart attack , with statin down to 10% , if I quit smoking down to 7 % . I ended up quitting smoking . If I improved my diet just a bit I could probably dump the statin.

I stopped taken the Statins.  Im not advocating anyone else doing so, but when you go down the rabbit hole of researching statins it really makes you wonder if the benefits out weighs the risks. Lot of debate on what should be classified high cholesterol.  I think if it can be controlled with diet you should definitely do that.  Mine is more due to genetics. Showed little improvement with diet and Statins.

anything on side effects?        im curious cuz my urologist didnt tell me about some of the common stuff.  it pissed me off when i read up on it after experiencing some of them.   he also said there were no foods that contribute to old guy prostate as well.  i dont see that guy any longer.           i do still take tam. but im down to every other day and may actually be able to go a few days without noticing a back up thanks to prostadine.  it seems to be working well. with the side effects that flomax crap has,  its for the birds.

You should check out costplusdrugs.com It’s the company Mark Cuban started and is shipped right to your door. Just search for whatever drug your on and will tell you the exact price.

Muscle and joint pain is a side effect of statins.  

I start Medicare B with a supplement plan N during May. Total bill will be $310/mo. Good deal.

Res  q 1250 fish oil  and Red yeast rice(which acts like a statin) lowered my cholesterol from 299 to 167 in 6 weeks years ago. I take the 1250 regularly and the red yeast if needed depending on most recent blood test.  

The 1250 is pricier than most but the quality is unmatched When comparing EPA and DHA content.  And I almost always get 50%

off.

I got mine as well...helps for sure.  Just about to reorder.

It happens every time we run insurance for prescriptions. It’s basically just a joke now for us to see how bad you get screwed. The last one couple weeks ago antibiotics for my daughters strep throat the insurance wanted us to pay $170 bucks said ya nope run it without $43 bucks. My inhalers are ridiculous too it’s over half off to not use insurance.

I was on a very low dose  , told him I was still getting up to pizz at night. He said to start taking 2. After taking 2 a day for a while I couldn't get a nut when screwing in the morning. When seeing a uralogist for a lump I told him " when screwing in the am I have a better chance of having a heart attack then an orgasm" he started laughing and said that is a side effect of flowmax. I went back to 1 a day that day.

Yep I felt like a 100 year old man on all of them I tried. This Repatha is every two weeks and it works great for me. No side effects

Same here on the joints.  Switched to Red Rice Yeast.

3 hours of cardio a week keeps my LDL in check. No need for meds.
