USA Donating Member Deephaven Posted November 29 USA Donating Member Posted November 29 Need another machine. Wife/younger son are taken care of, but would like to be able to take both boys out now. I could care less on the brand. It won't get ridden more than 1k mi in the next 3 years, he is only 5'10 so I don't need a huge machine but want it to make him love sledding. Seeing decent prices on stuff, but if you had to buy a 5/600 class machine right now to keep for 3 years and have it hardly get ridden what would it be? Quote
Not greg b Posted November 29 Posted November 29 (edited) The skidoo trail sport. They can be had for like 9k new. 85hp, efi, 2 stroke with reverse. Probably the simplest sled and best bang for buck on the market. It’s been around for a while now so finding a deal on a used one, you would probably be able to sell it for the same that you paid for it. Edited November 29 by Not greg b 2 Quote

The key is how were they ridden and maintained. A lot of wife/girlfriend ride 600's that are not abused and well maintained. Have also seen 600's that are beat to death. I always look at the clutches. If they're all full of belt dust and look like they never been cleaned and there's chunks of belt laying in there walk away. If they look like they've been cleaned and the rest of the sled it clean pull the plugs and do a compression check. Unless it's a E-tec little harder for a compression check. 1 Quote

I’ve seen real good deals on leftover sport 600efi hard to pass up if you’re looking for something in that class. 1 Quote

Everyone that wants 90s ass dragger performance at a super low price that would be the machine. Hp would be close to a zr580 and a suspension that is light years better 1 Quote
Art Vandelay Posted December 6 Posted December 6 Had no idea they were selling those at that price. Quote

That just shows me how bad a lot of people are struggling right now that they even have a leftover cheap sled to begin with and it’s marked down to basically a steal now and still not sold. 6 hours ago, Not greg b said: Everyone that wants 90s ass dragger performance at a super low price that would be the machine. It’s really all you need for a speed limit state like NH. Quote
