Many times when I'm away from home and want to use my phone and don't have a password, how can I get to use anothers wifi, like Walmart or Menards to look up things..I'm not very good at this but I've been told there's someway to do it..help please.

Where ever you are your phone is picking up signals from all the wifi that is near you. When you drive down the street you are getting wifi signals from every house that has wifi but most are locked so you can't use it. When you go to a business your phone picks up their wifi and it usually will be locked but if they have a guest wifi just go to your wifi settings and everything that is available will be listed there and click on what you want that is not locked. Most guest wifi doesn't require a password but it is not secure so be careful what you do.  Walmart tracks you while you use their wifi in store so if you go down the women hygiene isle you may get more tampax ads than Tampon Timmie

Go to customer service desk and ask them to help you or go to your phone settings and click on WIFI, click on available WIFI connections and look for what connections are available where you are that are unlocked, Wal-Mart guest or what ever store, restaurant, hotel, motel ect.

I could be wrong, won't be the 1st time, but your phone is always looking for WiFi or cell towers to connect thru. If you click on the WiFi option in settings it will show you all available WiFi connections around you, some secured/locked and unlocked/free wifi. Last time I was in the ER my phone wouldn't work for shit the nurse said just click on WiFi setting, click on the guest WiFi tab and everything will work better, texting, Internet, videos etc. Most stores offer free wifi to it guests/customers and your phone will show the WiFi around you so you can look things up via WiFi instead of thru cell towers, some WiFi you can connect to some you can not.

And again the real question is why get on wifi in the first place.  I never do anywhere.  Surprised all the conspiracy idiots aren't having a hay day stating what a mess public wifi is and how often your info is easily grabbed and manipulated.  Either way, data is basically free in this country with any real phone plan so if you don't have it check what you are paying monthly.  I've also not found too many places where I don't have coverage and the only times that is true is either on a remote fishing trip or snowmobile trip so there are reasons for wifi, but they are few and far between.

I pay nothing monthly, $99 once a year.

You know I have asked them at Walmart, they said they don't know..They had these Black Shirt guys (gone now) who worked for Verizon, they weren't supposed to help but did give me some clues on other issues I had with the Phone(s).

I have unlimited data and use Wi-Fi fairly often lots of dead area around here or low coverage and it’s slow as hell. Even in “cities” like keene I can’t get service to save my life in some spots.

If the wifi logo has a lock on it that means it's secured.  You will need to ask for a password.  Usually the small places will have it posted somewhere or they will give it to you if asked.  There isn't a way you will be able to connected to a secured network without a password.

As @Deephaven mentioned, data is so low cost now that it doesn't save much money to not have cell data.  I rarely connect to public wifi anymore unless there is no signal, which is common in your area.

Just not where your at.

Many places with public wifi still want you to enter something, an email, phone etc.  Not too many open anymore.  Even airport public wifi.

I see. Spectrum and comcast offer cell service which was why I asked. Lowest price spectrum plan is a flat $20 a month for 1gb data. Wife uses that and I have unlimited for $30.

Service has been excellent and I grab wifi signals from both companies in certain areas.

I have Xfinity mobile through Comcast. Unlimited would be useless for us as we don't use much mobile data. Zero service here at home. Whenever we are out where there is service there is usually free WiFi through Xfinity, or a local business. I pay around $40 a month for 3gb of shared data for four lines with Nicole's parents included. We occasionally go over and it costs an extra $15 a month.

Something changed not long ago because I started getting xfinity mobile signal at work. I looked it up and they are sharing so that's a plus.
