Average US take home pay is higher than average Canadian.  If the Americans can't afford to buy our homes how are the kids going to?

A big component here in Canada still and was in the USA, of being bullied into this new age religion was the medias ability to manipulate the average person into thinking if they did not agree with there bullshit, they were a minority that better keep there mouth shut, or else. Making them feel it was socially unacceptable to voice a common sense opinion, and would be socially demonized if they dared to.

Well, its pretty tough to do that when the average Joe stops listening to it and shows up to vote against it. It will be very hard now for places like Canada to use there state media to twist and shape a version of reality that is blatantly untrue when the states will be thriving at the same time with the opposite approach. It would not surprise me at all to see Canada now try and go full north Korea, censoring access to outside media, in an attempt to keep there spin on reality alive and keep the average Canadian under there thumb. 

Canada largely depended on the other westernized countries being under similar regimes to work hand and hand in less access to free thought.Now that the biggest and most powerful of them has fallen and going scorched earth on censorship, It can only be a positive that a common sense sane message can finally be heard and understood by others in other countries.

The above, and trumps message of anti-war to me, are the reasons why we all should celebrate this win. Its a strike against globalism.A key one.

Kids here at work buying houses all the time.

You should of got a trade and maybe you wouldn't be still working at 70.

No amount of increase in pay is going to correct that. That will only lead to inflation and further battles of indebtedness to buy the available homes.

Only an increased number of homes on the market will.

Next year I intend to sever 12 or so acres, on what is zoned “future residential”.
My intent is to account for storm water management, road allowance etc as well.

I think 15 or so single family homes, on half acre lots with wells and septic systems can be easily built.

There is plenty of electricity at the road, as well as natural gas.

This is an ideal area to do this. The subdivision beside me is the same. 40 homes, on 30 acres, in a village, one road.

It will impact my privacy, but it needs to be. I figure I’ll get push back from the subdivision beside me. They’ve had years of forest and trails (mine) that I’ve allowed them to use without any caveats. L

i could decry NIMBY as well, the new homes would be 100 feet from my lot, but I think it’s for the greater good.
 

I then intend to sever another 5 ish acres and sever that into lots my extended family can build on.

I’ve yet to see if the County actually wants to build homes, or if they are against progress.

Makes me think back to a wage negotiation the truck drivers/operators had a few years back,

I went to the meeting of the drivers, not union.

I went, as these guys are all my friends, but I can’t vote because my vote would have no financial impact on me, but a major one on them. 

The price of homes was increasing, quickly. The company came forward with the position they are not basing the pay on the ability to own a home.

i found that refreshing, but shitty, at the same time.

Same around here. The town I work out of always has a few going up. My bud is the super for the builder on a handfull being sold now. Decent size homes on small lots. in a not very desireable part of town ( not a drug infested shithole at all, just not the nicer parts of town) First 3 they did sold for $1.4 , next 2 sold for $1.6
