Simple...trading partners take more of our goods or equalize tariffs.   Our cars get a 10% tariff going to the EU while we only put 2.5% on theirs?   Why is that.

China can buy more agricultural crops from us if they want tariffs removed.  They can stop stealing IP.   There is much they can do to make it more fair for the US. 

Lets be clear Trump's idea on tariffs isn't just bringing things back to the US but getting better deals for the US.   Canada could benefit from that.

Yes. We already benefited from the chips act.  Bringing mfg back to the US will have a spin off effect.  But economic downturns will affect us too. Depends what happens.
