yamadan700 Posted November 5 Posted November 5 (edited) Looking at a 2016 ZR800 SnoPro as a backup/wife/friend sled. It has 3000miles on it, original owner and it is very minty. However he upgraded to the Fox Float Evol front suspension about 2000 miles ago. I don't have any experience with air shocks at all. Always avoided them. Are they any good? Are they hard to dial in for a softer ride for my wife and then back to a firmer ride for me? Any insight into these shocks is appreciated. Edited November 5 by yamadan700 Quote
teamgreen02 Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Had them on my 2016 ZR6000 RR. You can really tweak those shocks and get them set up the way you want them. Takes a little time but worth it. I never tried to set them up soft so I can't comment on that. You will need to adjust the air pressures just to get the ride height and ski pressure right between two different riders. There is a fair amount of adjustment with jus thte clickers. Not sure if you have clickers for rebound or just compression. Start with "stock" settings and adjust from there. Write them down so you can easily go back to a setup you were happy with. Fox has good manuals on their website that I used. The worst part about these shocks is not everyone can rebuild them. They take some special tools that not all shock rebuilders have. Who you do find that can rebuild them will charge you a premium for sure. 1 Quote
Not greg b Posted November 20 Posted November 20 If I remember right On a procross run 60-70/100-110 for air pressures, 14 out on the compression and like 10-12 on the rebound if they are the stock rr shocks. That was pretty good for all around trail riding. Beating the shit out of it was a different set up. 1 Quote
Not greg b Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Also the air pressures and compression adjustments aren’t the magic ride comfort adjustments. The rr shocks are valved stiff and will ride rough regardless of air pressures and compression settings Quote

I can’t see the picture. The real fox ones are way better than the rr ones. The only cat that came with good ones was my 2015 tucker. If he is buying a rr the skid shocks will be more of an issue. They are terrible for low speeds. I had to go to Sweden for a proper suspension on my catalyst as cat sucks. As you know I ran the those fox evol-x and the rears to match and they would take anything you threw at them at wide open throttle Quote

yamadan700 Posted November 21 Author Posted November 21 Went a different route. Bought a 2019 ZR7000 iACT. My wife is used to the 7000 motor and is happy with the planted feel. Thank you all for the insight. 1 Quote
