i dont hunt anymore since my dad died. i use to shoot skeet and trap weekly for years. The amount of effort and money to own guns today is no where near as easy as it was when i was in hs. I dont need or want them anymore so they are now in the hands of someone who will use them. Besides I’m in a spot that i feel is extremely safe. I love it.

Effort and money to own guns?   Yeah I'd say they aren't cheap to buy but just owning them isn't expensive.  Shooting them can vary by what, how much and how often.

Picked up a Savage Axis 2 for the boy to deer hunt with today.

went with a Mossberg Patriot in walnut finish. Chambered in 25-06

Guess Ill get the 22-250 next yr .

I have. My brother deer hunts with a Rem 700 ADL chambered in that round.

Yes he does. Fairly light recoil, but good power. Main reason I'm looking at 6.5 is ammo availability. Everywhere I go they have a real good selection of ammo for them. 25-06 was hard to find during covid but it's a little better now. 7-08 can be a little tough to find at times as well.

Funny ya mention that as after I left gun store I thought I should prolly call them and ask if they have 25-06 and if not tell em to order me up some, But there are 3 decent gun shops within 15 min of here.

My gun always shot good with the Rem CorLokt 120 grain. I was down to just a few rounds and they were super hard to come by with remingtons bankruptcy so I switched to hornady 117 grain whitetail.

I had Hornady in my 30-30 last yr and he things were like 1/8 in. larger then everything else and kept jamming.
