I have a Remington 700 heavy barrel chambered in 22-250. It's a fast flat shooting round as long as it isn't to windy.

IS ammo expensive?

I haven't bought any in a while.  Most of what I have now was reloaded by my father in-law.

I have a 22-250 barrel for my TC Encore. Last ammo I bought was Hornady Varmint Express and it was around $32/box

Use to have one. Sold it with my 1100 and 1148. I no longer have any guns.

I do.

Something chambered in .223 would likely be cheaper to shoot.

Mine's a Model 70 Winchester that I bought for $200 along with other rifles and shotguns from a local (who's now a cop) because his lady didn't want guns in their home.

Winterization season for me. I like to celebrtate and buy a new gun each yr. May do it. Coyotes are starting to piss me off

It's a great round for Coyotes for sure. If you aren't going to spend a lot of time at a gun range shooting rounds then the ammo cost won't matter much anyway :dunno:

8 handguns and around 12-13 long guns

That's what I have also.

I have a heavy barreled model 70 that is my favorite rifle for virtually everything. Recoil is light, and I shoot from a bipod. As a result, you don’t have to reacquire your target after you fire. While it is a bit light for deer, I have taken 3 really nice bucks with it. Absolutely devastating on prairie dogs and fox with a vmax bullet.

That sounds like a great idea. I'm in the market for something new myself. Haven't decided on a caliber yet for me but thinking about a .243 or similar for the boy since he's starting to deer hunt this year. What model gun were you looking at?

I also have shot multiple deer with the 22-250, the semi auto Belgium Browning 7mm mag got too heavy to carry.

I was originally looking for a .243 heavy barrel when I ran across a deal on a Ruger Model 77 heavy barrel chambered in 25-06 that I couldn't resist.

It's a pretty flat shooting round, like the 22-250.  It just has a bit more punch, lol

It's a great round, not super common on in stock rifles though.
