If you're able to survive the initial collapse and the lawlessness that ensues, the best long term survival tactic is to be useful. Have a skill that is needed and be willing to perform said skill and your chances increase dramatically.

A lot of problems in any type of long term, warring apocalyptic type scenarios with these survivalist books.  Movement is the key to survival.  Invisibility is next.  If you are urban, you will be found and if you can fight off the first wave, more will come because it's clear you have something of value.  Digging in and defending is slow death once you've been found out.  If you are hopeless and useless, submit and hope for the best.  Surviving on scraps is your best bet.

Not that Jan 6 is was much of any revolt imo the gov has complete crushed many if not most individuals involved and even those that stood and watched and thought about getting involved.  If Trump loses the protests in DC is going to be mild and a bunch of do nothing pansies  Also. When people get hunger, cold, and desperate chaos ensues.  Look at Florida.  Not enough of society is willing to sleep in a dirt hole to make any measurable difference.  The power players just have to make people desperate and they will take each other out.

I don't think there will be much protest at all if Trump loses.  It's expected and all that will happen is future divide between rural and urban areas.

Nothing cause the president doesn’t do much when it comes to the direction of the country.  Rural people aren’t that rural in today’s society. 

If you are rural and have something hungry people or the power players want it’s gone.

Urban people will eat their entire neighborhood out of house and home and then go after one another before the ones that survived even consider venturing out.  And by the time that happens, they are venturing out into a real bad place where organization and planning has long been in place to keep them right where they are or kill whoever slips through.

Let me help you a tad...the first time the US military is ordered to attack its citizens, it's a complete fracture.  And we're going into full revolution.  I can give you numbers on what that might mean but it will probably just scare you.
