19 days of reserve.  Gulf of Mexico production shut down due to climate change storms, and US using more oil then anybody.  Fall and winter is going to be hard for many I suspect if Israel goes after Iran.

 

  • Currently, there are about 19 days' worth of emergency oil supply in the U.S. SPR, which is deemed sufficient to cushion price spikes only for a short while.

but bringing down gas prices got the dems votes and that my friend is what counts

The SOR wasn’t to prevent price spikes. It was created to replace OPEC oil in the event of another embargo. It became a political option to control the price of oil. At this point I don’t see the need for oil reserves as being critical since America is now the #1 oil producing nation and could ramp up production within a short period of time. The main issue is refining capacity.
