It's crazy, went from greener than green to grass dying on the soccer fields. Quote
USA Donating Member Bontz Posted September 27, 2024 USA Donating Member Posted September 27, 2024 Bean field just to the north of our neighborhood (about 200 yards away) and holy crap .. it's like the dust bowl around here with them harvesting. The wife was trying to enjoy the evening on the patio last night, and said she had to come inside. The only good thing with this lack of rain has been it at least cuts down on my need to mow. Quote

The cities and most of MN has definitely dried up quickly. Central Sconnie received over 3” of rain last Thursday through Sunday - sprinklers are off and the grass needs mowing again! Quote

After a very wet beginning of the summer it's been pretty dry since. We just got our first real rain in a while over the past couple of days. Quote

Going to LOTW next weekend to chase the shiner run and the big eyes that gorge on them. agree, but I haven't taken the at home boat out very much this summer and it's a beautiful day so I'll go see what's not biting... largemouth bite has been horrible the last few trips to the cottage. water level has dropped about a foot since the beginning of August and they went deep. tried drop shotting, chatter/crank baits and all my normally production techniques and meh. They'll move back in to fatten up for winter soon, hopefully this coming weekend. Quote
USA Donating Member Deephaven Posted September 29, 2024 USA Donating Member Posted September 29, 2024 I'd rather not fish than have to drop shot. Hope they are out for you! Quote

Hope they are out for you! lol... yeah, little dinks along shore in the rocks but they're eating crayfish as the first one in the boat puked his up. came up with a new rig to mess with, it worked pretty well all things considered. foliage is sorta starting... nice afternoon on the river regardless and ran into some old friends out with their kids. 2 Quote
