Win on Sunday, sell on Monday wasn’t true in the 80’s and isn’t true today. Cat went under in the 80’s, doubled down, kept the focus on racing and went out of business in ‘25.

Sno-X sure as fuck doesn’t sell any sleds. They aren’t even the same sleds consumers ride or buy. Polaris doesn’t sell consumers the same sleds it races. Racing is pointless, it’s not the 60’s or 70’s anymore.

It was and did. If it wasn’t for that idiotic emphasis on racing, they wouldn’t have been circling the drain when Textron bailed them out. What did Textron do? They fired all the old guard who were more interested in squandering limited resources on racing than fixing QC problems and building new sleds that people actually wanted to buy. Roger Skime confirms their emphasis on racing in the Shop Talk podcast. He was too stupid to learn from the bankruptcy in the 80’s and went on to champion the same moronic philosophy to Cat’s demise in the 20’s.

There was over 110 races that day from heats to finals.
