well... just drove home from SE WI where it's been raining the past 24 hours, rained all the way to Green Bay and back to Wausau... still raining now.   so much for going out on the lake this weekend to run some gas through the sleds and fiddle with the new gearing and clutching on the byg boar...  :wall:

Go ride the ice in the rain.

Just be careful when it starts freezing so you get a ice layer of ice, some water, then the rest of the ice.  It is like riding on marbles.  Fucking wild experience.

Impossible! @krom just posted you are getting cold weather. Krom likes forecasts from bullshit sources so he can ignore the fact his snow melts as soon as it falls.

No amount of global warming will ever bring sunlight there, 😥

Goddamn, just turned over 1200 miles for this season. I’ve been sledding since October.

It would suck living in the Midwest where it never snows. All you have to look forward to are shitty snirt trails across soybean fields filled with dirt & mud.

Fucking awesome conditions today, 12” of fresh snow, 30°F, hell yeah!

took a ride down to the boat landing, talked to an ice fisherman on his way back in and he said there's about a foot of ice in most of the big bay... but not a lick of snow.  atv, and ice racing bikes were out on their practice track, got passed by a group of Harley's on my way home.

pretty pathetic... :(

December 27, 2024

Preliminary Climate Summary for December of 2024:

With the expected warmer than normal last week of the month (to conclude next Tuesday), most climate stations in Minnesota will report a mean monthly temperature that is 3°F to 5°F above normal for December. This will mean that on a statewide basis December of 2024 will fall among the warmest 25 in state history. Extremes for the month ranged from 58°F at Granite Falls (Yellow Medicine County) on the 7th and at Winnebago (Faribault County) on the 8th to just -31°F at Baudette (Lake of the Woods County) on the 11th. Minnesota reported the coldest temperature in the nation four times during December, on the 12th, 13th, 19th, and 21st.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - For only the third time this December, measurable snow was recorded in Anchorage on Thursday.

Both Anchorage and Fairbanks recorded 0.4″ of snow as of Thursday afternoon.

Thursday’s snowfall brings the December snow total to 1.9″ in Anchorage, which is nearly 14″ below normal, and more than three feet less than last December.

There's 300 miles of trail in all of Alaska.  That's a good day of riding.  One day.  Lol
