Take it when you can. In north MN we've had good snow all year with snow pack going up and down but been good riding conditions all year, trails groomed in December which is rare for us with our swamps, it's usually not enough snow or too much snow too early which insulates the swamps. My buddy in elk river area hasn't had snow on the ground on a long time. On Friday I was cutting trees at my house on bare ground but Saturday could still snowmobile in Northern MN and today at my house I have to clear snow most of the day and prep snowmobile for trip next weekend and hope to ride after work a few nights this week with the help of daylight savings. One last hoorah of snowmobiling. In about 1.5 weeks I'll be ready to shift to spring.

ikr... brother comes home to go riding, trails are closed locally and we're working on and washing sleds in the driveway at 65F Monday... he leaves, Friday we get a foot of snow and a couple days after that we get the biggest storm of the season. problem is the swamps, streams, creeks thawed and ran so it's highly unlikely they'll reopen here. Vilas county just north of us is open, and I have a sled with Michigan tags so maybe my season isn't roached, which I thought it was on Monday. we had 20 days of open trails here locally, but just 30 minutes south of us... not a single day, and @Mag6240 can attest to that.

We had open trails “down” here for a couple weeks, I think I got 7-800 miles or more locally. Too bad we can’t just go out and ride in this storm, it would be pretty epic!

I rode one of my snowmobiles today. For fun. I didn't have anywhere to go or errands to run, just enjoyed burning dinosaur flesh and slaughtering drifts and making brap noises. That's what we do in America fuck yeah!
