What's for dinner????

Large threads tend to slow the site down so I locked the old thread and started this new one.

I think Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy are on the menu for tonight.

Too wet to do anything in the fields except harvest peas, which is a muddy mess, so we hit the road early and drove around 650 miles round trip to Bayfield WI for fish and chips.

Dumps the kids off, grabbed some coffee and off we went.

People in WI must take driving lessons in Iowa. My God, horrible driving today.

Almost all WI and MN plate ra-tards.

Basic route was home>Hood Cloud>Haydays>Turtle Lake>Hayward>Ashland>around that point on 13>Duluth>down 23 to Hood Cloud>home.

Not sure why, but on MN95, 3 different people turned out in front of us to do 20-40mph under the 60mph speed limit only to turn off in less then a mile, with no one behind us in sight. I hate traveling on 95 with a burning passion. Stupid stupid stupid drivers the whole length of it.

In WI where those state highways turn to 3 lane for a passing lane, we'd be following people operating at their own pace, then they'd put the hammer down on the passing lanes and slow back down on the other side and drop even another mph or 2 off their previous speed.

One I was going "excessively fast" having some old hag white knuckling it and keeping pace with us.

I was not determined enough to get past her on the chance I'd get a ticket. Back to 53mph.

Once we were out north of 2 all the way home, didn't deal with any of that shit.

That WI13 is a minimally traveled road, but less scenic then we thought it would be.

Going to grill up a whole pile of Lake Superior White Fish we picked up a couple weekends ago tonight or tomorrow.

Today is a big old slab of flank steak with chimichurri, baked beans, roasted red taters and onions, etc.

Boated to Lost Bay for a pizza.

Met the in-laws at Stone Barn Pizza between Nelson and Durand (WI)... warm night, but good pizza and beer!

We had lunch IN Durand on Saturday at the Corral Bar/Riverside Grill. Beat the heavy smoke and ate on the patio. A couple guys from my sled club were there on Motorcycles!

I love BLT's with cheddar/American cheese and mayo. Can't wait for our first tomatoes from the greenhouse. The Early Girls are coming along good. Hopefully in the next week to 10 days.

The wife and daughters had BLT's last night while I was at golf league. Tonight, I just get the leftover "T's" part of it .... but fresh tomatoes sliced up with some salt & pepper were excellent!
