Unrelated.  What a surprise.  Let's look at what you said.

Lots of performance based companies don't give a flying fuck about marketshare. Porsche will never try to make a shitbox that out sells a Chevy Cruise.

Porsche & Ferrari both make SUV's.  Neither were meant to be the best performing car.  All about market share and margin, ie good business sense.

You think Porsche and Ferrari care about marketshare? Or making the most badass car?

As shown above, they care about marketshare and profits.

Cat have never tried to 'gain market share' even though in the mid 2000s they had like 35% with the Firecats. They just strive to make the best sled.

So they tried to lose market share on purpose?  35% going down to 15%??  All to make the best sled, which they also failed at?

Your whole point has zero logic.  Arctic Cat is way more GM than Ferrari.

Just shut the fuck up and admit marketshare is only indicitive of a good product, but not the best. Just ask McLaren.

First, you are the passionate one about this topic trying to prove that cat somehow only cares about building performance sleds and gives two shits about selling them in relevant numbers, generating revenues and profits which goes hand in hand with taking market share from your competition.

The feeble attempt to somehow tie in a highly profitable and successful exotic car company and attempt to try to equate what cat does is fucking ridiculous and just plain dumb.  Now you bring McLaren into the mix.  What do they have to do with cats success or extreme lack of it?

Have you driven a 720s?  I have.  Have you driven a GT?  I have.  Fucking amazing cars, insanely fast and THE BEST at nearly everything exotic cars do.  In no universe does a 720s have anything to do with any product ever developed or sold by cat.  Cats products have been so far from being the best over the past two decades the company was financially fucked.

If you haven't seen the modern sleds and their glowing brakes, and if your son is into it... attend.  Tickets at https://brushfire.com/erxmotorpark/2023snocrossnational/541831/tickets

@Not greg band I will be there for the evening session, that's when the Pro and Pro-Lite action is.

I'm leaning towards going at this point. Probably show up in the afternoon and stay to see the pros.

You only call it dumb because it COMPLETELY DESTROYS your argument and you have nothing to retaliate with.

Says the guy who can't argue against it.

That Arctic Cat isn't Ferrari?  Are you seriously that absurd?

Terrible fit and finish, slowest 2 strokes, can't build their own 4 stroke, copies the designs of the other manufacturers but takes more than 10 years to do so, isn't winning any races outside of Herf, their new "performance" sled is a 600, they are failing like crazy in SnoX, they don't charge 10x what the next manufacturer does and have people happy to buy them, they aren't red, no one thinks of AC as a dominant brand in performance regardless the motorsport.

There is NOTHING about Cat that screams Ferrari.  Not even close.

This topic has a wider turn radius than a school bus.

So, what's Yamaha going to do next week?  Introduce a blue Catalyst?  They wouldn't introduce a new engine, would they?  Keyed tether?  New tunnel bag?  Something has to be new, doesn't it?

What's funny is everyone thinking people are mad.  I'm not mad, just trying to get this place back on track with the old HCS days.

For fuck sake, everyone has gone so soft.  Anytime the manufacturer's announce there is no better opportunity to pick their shit apart and definitely nothing compares to a brand new decade late to the party chassis that is a GAMECHANGER to do that.

What's a Yamaha? How many sleds did they sell new this year? 8? Why even bother? Can you imagine being a Yamaha dealer or a Yamaha Salesperson? It has to be disturbing.... at least they have great dirt products to carry their dealer network.

If you look at TotallyYamaha forums, there is nothing but despair. They appear to have lost their rider base, with almost no enthusiasm for the product release. It seems that most everyone has resigned themselves to the fact that the Catalyst will at least initially be exclusive to Cat. A Yamaha Viper/ZR7000 will obviously be available this year, but is ancient news.... The Yamaha faithful are hoping that Textron offers the Catalyst in a 4 stroke for Yamaha customers, and 2 strokes for Cat customers. That's probably the only good scenario for Yamaha.

The Catalyst is nothing but a "Me too" chassis. And it only places Yamaha in a more precarious position if they don't have access to it.

Yamaha will have 33 model variants for next (down from 37) year, and they are already working on the 2025 models. That came from a Yamaha employee in charge of the production line.

Heard they will have a retro look this year. Red and white.

Maybe Cat will give them a 800 procross riot? Yami seems to like to introduce some minor tweak each year.

Hard to see them putting a different engine in the old chassis. If Cat couldn't get the 800 together for the catalyst, they aren't going to be ready for a yamaha in it.

Its a shame Yamaha got derailed with 4 stroke only and their 1 ton sleds.  They had some good sleds.  70's and late 90's SRX come to mind and V-max sleds.

I'm still trying to picture how this works. Do they have days they let Yamaha run the line? Or does the guy call in the blue orders?

Jimmy let the Yamaha employee hold the sign to get that top secret information.
