Platinum Contributing Member Popular Post Shifty Posted February 1, 2023 Platinum Contributing Member Popular Post Share Posted February 1, 2023 Just finished a 6 day motorcycle ride from Southern California to Nevada and back. 85% off road. Beyond epic. 3 out of the 7 riders crashed and had to quit. We had the hammer down! I love the desert. 1120 miles 13

Platinum Contributing Member Popular Post Shifty Posted February 1, 2023 Author Platinum Contributing Member Popular Post Share Posted February 1, 2023 (edited) Temps would be in the high 20s at kickstands up 8am,high 60s by afternoon. I saw a road runner and a coyote!! No ACME crates, anvils or piles of free birdseed to be found though. Lots of wild burros. Loooong stretches of deep sand where you have to pin it to win it.50-55 or unmanageable. The sketchiest part was merging onto the 5 freeway inLA. fucking scary lol. Got over100mph on a dry lake bed. We had to turnaround at 5500’ trying to cross the Paiute mtns. Snow and ice. That was Charles Mansons power wagon supposedly Edited February 1, 2023 by Shifty

Frostynuts
Awesome pics and story. Who normally uses those goat paths ? Does the military use any of it to simulate offshore conditions training ?

Huge areas specifically set aside as ohrv areas. So much riding opportunities in California.

Moab has its own beauty, but there’s nothing quite like Mojave late in the day, at night, and early in the morning. Making a a cup of coffee and grabbing a sweet roll at daybreak in Mojave is amazing. No noise. Just total silence.

There’s thousands of miles of trails to be explored. I absolutely love it. Edited February 2, 2023 by ActionfigureJoe

SayatodaU.P.eh?
Love it out there. Been there a few times for work. I prefer southern Utah/Moab area more though. Can’t wait to go back. Rent the Jeep, crawl the rocks, drive the Shafer Trail across Canyonlands. 100% worth it.
