We do that all the time, we have more fun on them

Last ride I was on a tail dragger was about 5 years ago and ended up putting around 180 miles on that day.  Didn't want to even look at the sled after that.  Fun sled for about 50 miles.  It's a 1985 Indy 600 SE with a trail version SLP 700 RZ reed valve motor with triple pipes.

Until the trail gets rough... or someday when your back says "Enough already!".

@Doug I had my 1993 XCR440 out last spring on a vintage ride, and just for the hell of it, I took it out of town where I knew the trail was smooth, and yeah, what a blast!  But again, no way I'm doing 100+ miles on one of those, much less the 200 we average on the new stuff.  Ride and seating position is just sooooo much better for our old bodies, not to mention when trails get rough.

Great and fun sled an XCR440 is.  A 1991 XC400 Geo (440) is on the wish list if I would ever find one

When the trails are trashed out is the only time I'm even interested in riding a new iron.  Otherwise it just becomes boring.  Even still I rode about 50 miles of bumps, 25 out and 25 back on the zr 9 recently and I had a blast with it actually.

Most of the time I trail ride there are no bumps at all so it was pretty fun to dodge around them, skim them or smash through them.

I use to ride 200+ miles a day on those old sleds. The newer sleds we hardly ever ride more than 120 miles and stay in one spot now.

Oh I know what you're saying... used to do that as well but man, my body could handle that more years ago.

I have gone in the opposite direction.  200 mile days are common, more the norm actually with some of the guys I ride with.  We do saddle bag/over night trips more often.  Actually had a few guys I haven't ridden with in about 3 years come up a few weeks ago, and after they did their first 200 mile day, they couldn't go home without doing two back to back!  Never would have gotten them to do that even as little as 6-8 years ago.

Yep I saw those today, he was advertising them under Arctic restoration specialist or something like that

That’s the name of his company. He is a retired cat engineer from back in the day. He sells re production parts for cat made to factory spec. He has been around a long time and is at all the big swap events.

Yeah that's the business he was in with Jerry Legatt, they split it a few years ago with Jerry continuing to sell from his n.o.s parts collection.

I figured you had seen them along with the consecutive serial jags and other items.

If I was looking for a nice used sled I would be all over one coming from them

Probably the most expensive ass dragger known to man. That’s a really cool sled the more you look at it.

Sure is. The video of it running is great too. Sounds wonderful.

Makes me want to buy an oh Tree f7

I told my brother that I'm going to get his out this winter. Probably should pull a sled behind to collect the panties that get tossed at me though.

Better get a cat cutter to collect them all. You don’t want to upset the local snowmobile club for littering and get the trail closed
