They really are fucked. This is one situation where they just can't copy something because they don't have the technology. Shit is hitting the fan in china. Citizenry is beating the shit out of the police at Foxconn.

So when does china invade taiwan ? Do they just wait it out 2-3 years for the facilities to be built and all the bugs worked out?

It's going to happen it's just when will it happen.

Thing is china might already have this tech in development and havent made it known. They are far more advanced than they let on. Hell they literally make everything the world relies on

I'm in Taiwan now. The Taiwanese are kinda pissed about TSMC and other companies moving their most bleeding edge tech off the island. The thinking is that that tech being made here gives them some assurances that the West will help keep China at bay. Once that leverage disappears, the West is far less likely to help repel an invasion.

It sucks. The Taiwanese are great people.

 No they’re not.

I don't see China making a move on the island anytime soon. The Chinese know that America and the allies would slam shut the Straight of Malacca overnight. China has no real adequate defense against this because their military has only short range capabilities. If China loses access to the straight of Malacca, they lose 80% of the goods coming into the mainland. Although the Chinese population is collapsing, there's still a lot of hungry mouths to feed there.  The threat of an attack is highly overinflated for a variety of reasons.

Translation:  China will make a move soon.

Damn.

The two biggest needs inside the manufacture level in automotive right now? Semiconductor and software engineering and manufacturing. It’s pretty much a name your price deal. I hope it happens but time will tell.

The thing is automotive does not need top of the line low nano meter chips in fact many of the car mfg have been slow to adopt newer chips. This leaves a spot for China in the market.

Which makes it that much easier for the automotive world to get out from under that BS, even if just some of it. Costs will go up and people will pay it because they will be able to get the product instead of wait for it.

Xi has a closing window. His economy is being crippled by the Zero Covid policy and aging population. He really has 3-5 years to attempt to reunify or lose his chance.

He has two options. Either he can protect the artificial islands in order to extend the military reach in the East China Sea- this in an attempt to secure the SoM, or he can try and secure Taiwan. He can’t do both simultaneously. There’s also a problem with Australia. They’ll be taking delivery of 8 Virginia class subs from the good ole USA within the next 7 years. Possibly sooner. He’ll get no assistance from Russia because their navel fleet has be decimated from years of decay. Given his massive economic and populace problems at home, I don’t see him lighting any new fires. There’s this odd perception that china thinks long term. One look at their history and the only area that they think and act long term about is how to keep their diverse population under control. Bottom line is that the west can slam shut the majority of Chinese supply lines of raw and goods necessary to conduct a war within 12-24 hours. The CCP has created a very dependent county with very few military options.
